Hey friends, Becki here. I don't think I'm alone when I say that I spend way to much time scrolling through my Pinterest feed. I've devoted an entire Pinterest board to inspiration images. I had a hard time narrowing it down to just one image to create a layout from.
"Love My Girl", by Becki Adams.
I think it's easy to see how I was inspired by this Pinterest image. These simple graphic images have striped backgrounds with one image in the middle. I love the simplicity of these images and knew that I could create an awesome background with strips of patterned paper and white cardstock.
I dove into the brand new Oh My Stars collection to create this layout. I chose an 8 1/2 by 11 layout to create this background. I cut a piece of white cardstock slightly smaller than 8 1/2 x 11. Then, I cut several 3/4 inch strips of patterned paper and one strip of scrap cardstock at 1/4 inch. I used the 1/4 inch strip of cardstock to measure the distance in between the patterned paper strips.
The bottom third of the layout simply has strips of patterned paper running horizontally across the page. The top two thirds of the layout are adhered at an angle.
After I adhered all the patterned paper strips to the cardstock I mounted it to black cardstock and adhered it to a piece of patterned paper that I had trimmed to 8 1/2 x 11. I added my photo, title and a few embellishments to complete the layout. This layout is a little busier than I intended it to be but I love it! I love the way it turned out.
I loved it so much that I created a card with the scraps that I had left on my desk, some letter stickers, and a designer clip. If you're looking for a fun technique to try, you need to try this one. You'll love it! Thanks for stopping by the Bella Blvd blog today.

Loving all the strips and the layers on your layout and card. I adore that you created both in the same sitting no waste of paper on your craft table!
