Hello! I’m Kelly Noel, and I’m so excited to be here with Bella Blvd as their guest designer this month! I’ve been married to my husband, Tom, for 14 years and we have three boys. Jackson is almost 12, Brady is 9, and Sawyer (we call him the “bonus baby”!) is 3. I work as the Education Content Coordinator for Studio Calico and Big Picture Classes, and spend my spare time creating layouts and pocket pages with Studio Calico kits and for One Little Bird Designs. I’ve been scrapbooking for as long as I can remember, but really fell in love with it after my oldest was born in 2004. I found 2peas at that time, and the rest is history! When I’m not scrapbooking, you can almost always find me at the baseball field. I love watching my boys play ball, spending time with friends and family, shopping, decorating, and cooking for my family.
"Love You", by Kelly Noel.
Bella Blvd was generous to send me three of their boyish collections to work with and it was so much fun! This first layout uses exclusively the Cute Baby Boy collection. I’m smitten with the soft colors with the touch of orange and green. These colors matched so many of my photos, but I chose one of my favorite photos of my middle son and the baby.
I used a fun cloud cut file, so that I could use all of the fun patterns in the collection. It took quite awhile to cut all those little pieces, but it was worth it! A few die-cuts for the title and around my photo, and this layout was finished in no time!
"Zoo", by Kelly Noel.
As soon as I saw the Zoo Crew collection, I knew I wanted to scrap these two photos of my youngest at the zoo feeding the giraffe. I remembered that I had them, but had never scrapped them, so it was the perfect fit. The giraffe patterned paper was a must, and I paired it in strips with the text/polka dot paper.
I love the contrast between the two papers, and they served as a great backdrop for my photos. I added a cluster of embellishments on the left side of my page (how cute is that chipboard giraffe?!), and finished the page off with the “zoo” die-cut that serves as my title.
"Everyday Adventure", by Kelly Noel.
We don’t travel too often, but I love the versatility of the Let’s Go collection. I was able to pull out some papers and die-cuts that worked well for just everyday adventures. Our 3-year old is all about adventure. My Mom has been watching him for me a couple of days a week now that she’s retired, and they’ve been going on a lot of little adventures around town. He looks forward to his days with her and I’m so thankful that she is able to do that with him.
I created a fun banner at the top of the page just using strips of several of the patterned papers and cutting them with my scissors to create a banner shape. Layering them together created some interest at the top of the page. I popped up my photos using foam adhesive to make them stand out and grouped some die-cuts and washi tape along the left side to serve as my title.
Thank you so much to Bella Blvd for inviting me to be the guest designer this month! I had a lot of fun with these adorable collections!
