Bella Blvd Studio Blog: Designing With Grids With Leanne

Hey there Bella Friends! It's Leanne here today and I am sharing a layout design using a simple grid pattern based around a fun polaroid photo! Bella Blvd products are seriously the best goodies to scrap with! Each and every time I reach into my stash I can guarantee I'll document another family story, because in every collection the variety of opportunities are endless! This story is all about my baby putting on his own Rock & Roll show, and you may not see the typical guitar etc. type embellishments (note: Max has a number of Rock & Roll themed products), but the story is supported and documented regardless.

Instax photos are really quite a lot of fun! What I love most about this particular polaroid is that it reminds me of a retro style memory for rock and roll concerts. Something that can be found in my parent's photo albums from the seventies! The polaroid has captured my boy's fun loving expression so I wanted to create a page to also mimic it. The thin, rectangular shape of the photo was my starting point.

I built up a grid design of 2" patterned paper squares, with my photo in the center. Below the squares and 2" Candid Cards from Max, I added layers of paper the same size as the polaroid. I didn't want my design to be strictly uniformed but rather a little messy - like most rock concerts!

To create more interest with the layers, Clear Cuts were added, enhancing the papers without the need for additional clutter. Sticker phrases and fun chip board elements were also layered to help complete visual triangles and focal points.

My title was created from the Scattered Sprinkles Treasures & Text sticker sheet. The dominant black alphas against white cardstock repeats the colors in my photo and the "star" shapes in the letter "o's" complement the other star prints on the page.

To complete this layout, I added a scallop border sticker from Zoo Crew. It may look like a zebra print but I'm pretending this pattern is a keyboard to support my musical story!!! Once again, I love how versatile Bella Blvd really is! Thanks for visiting here today.
