"Project Life Week 7" by Leanne Allinson.
Hi Bella Friends! It's Leanne here today and I'm sharing a fun pocket page created with fresh summer colors! The new Let's Go collection is my ideal starting place when it comes to promoting a fun Summer Vibe. I've teamed it up with some gorgeous Illustrated Faith: She Blooms and the equally delicious Snapshots: Daily Details for these pocket pages to support and enhance my story. Plus tons of chipboard embellishments and stickers from across the Bella Blvd collections!
Each pocket card including the title 4x6 pocket, has been kept relatively clutter free to allow the paper patterns, embellishments and alphas to highlight a certain aspect of the project life page.
My journaling card has been made a feature by typing directly onto a punched circle piece of cardstock. To do this, the cardstock was adhered to the 3x4 patterned paper and then run through the typewriter. The addition of two IF She Blooms Enamel Hearts completes the pocket card by creating dimension. The pocket adjacent holds a photo, but to add more interest, I've included a chipboard Whatnot layered on to the top.
I quite like using chipboard pieces with my pocket pages as they are relatively flat and don't create extra bulk between the pages of the album. To create a similar depth with other embellishments, I will sometimes adhere paper pieces to the pocket pages with foam tape.
Layering patterned paper with stickers and other embellishments can also offer an alternative to white space. Pattern paper can frame the sticker while chipboard or enamel hearts/dots can draw the eye towards the space with its splash of color.
When done subtly, layering can be used repeatedly in several pockets on the same spread. On page two, the paper strips and border stickers can create the same effect as the patterned paper frame. The bright yellow cute clips bow, not only works with my summer color scheme, but also helps draw the eye across my pocket page spread.
To complete the spread of a two page project life story, I often create my own filler cards. Filler cards can be as simple as layering patterned papers with a similar color range together and then adding a contrasting pop of color for interest. I will also often also include a touch more information about the story onto my filler cards such as what or where.
Sticker sentiments are also a great way to help convey a mood or feeling for a particular story. The wonderful thing about using stickers too, is that they are usually bulk free and you can then fit more pages into an album. Ultimately, with that in mind, this will allow you to document more of your story. Win-win!
