Hello everyone! My name is Adrienne Alvis and I’m thrilled to be guest designing here at Bella Blvd! I live in Southern Illinois with my husband and I’m blessed to be a stay-at-home mother to three wonderful and growing children. Although my children are the main source of inspiration for my scrapbooking, I manage to create a few pages here and there that aren’t all about them. I’ve been papercrafting for about 10 years now and my style has evolved with the changing trends of the scrapbooking world, although I still tend to use a lot of layers and embellishments on my creations. I’ve been on many design teams over the years and I love the community of people that I’ve had the chance to meet and work with through this amazing hobby!

“Avery!”, by Adrienne Alvis.
For my first layout, I was really inspired by the bright, bold colors of the patterned papers in the She Blooms collection and I knew right away that I wanted to pair them with the photo of my daughter standing on a small hill while we were on a nature walk recently. Since I love stripes and bold designs, I used the B&W Stripe patterned paper as my background and layered several die cut floral shapes that I cut out using the Tiny Floral patterned paper and my Silhouette machine and scattered them around my page.

I fussy-cut even more of the floral designs from the Art Prints patterned paper and layered them around the coordinating flower bunches for added dimension.

I placed several die cut pieces and stickers from the collection around the photo of my daughter and added the pink letter stickers directly on the photo utilizing her pose as the “Y” in her name for my title.

For a finishing touch, I sprinkled a little yellow spray ink around my page and stitched the die cut flowers on using some white thread and my sewing machine. I like how just a little simple stitching gives my page a bit more of a homespun feel and how the bright colors pop against the black and white striped background.

For my next layout, I used my Silhouette to cut out a large pie chart shape that I filledwith pieces of patterned papers from the Cute Baby Boy collection. I added the photo of my son with his beagle pup in the middle of the pie chart, offset it just a bit, and layered a few pieces I cut out from the Daily Details patterned paper around it.

I used lots of the die cuts, cardstock stickers, and chipboard stickers from the collection and layered them around the right side of my page. I also placed several heart shaped enamel stickers from the She Blooms collection around the clouds to add even more color and dimension.

I created my title using letter stickers from the Cute Baby Boy collection and the Let’s Go collection to tie in the colors from my color scheme and used some foam adhesive to raise them up so they added an extra layer to my page.

I really like how versatile the Cute Baby Boy collection is and it worked so well with the photo of my son and his dog even though he’s not a baby anymore.

“She Blooms”, by Adrienne Alvis.
Next up, I used the leftover floral die cuts that I cut out of the Tiny Floral patterned paper from my first layout and flipped them over to the B side so they would stand out better against the She Paints Clear Cut transparency that I layered on top of a piece of white cardstock.

I placed a piece of vellum over the entire design so it would tone down the bright colors of the striped transparency and then cut out a piece of the 3x4’s to create a grid design on my layout. I added the photo of my daughter holding her first deer antler that she found on upper right-hand block of the grid and journaled underneath of it on the lined 3x4 piece.

I used several of the die cut pieces from the She Blooms collection and layered them around the grid design and placed a strip of the bloom washi in the middle of the grid.

Lastly, I used black thread and my sewing machine to sew a border all around my layout to add contrast and to bring out the other black elements of the page. I love how the stripes of the transparency look with the grid and how the shape of the bright flowers soften the hard lines of the grid design.

“Bora Bora”, by Adrienne Alvis.
For my last layout, I cut out a circular design on my Silhouette and backed them with patterned papers from the Let’s Go collection. I used photos from my recent trip to Bora Bora and placed them in the middle of the circular elements. I doodled around the circles to make them stand out more using a fine-tipped black marker and added several splatters of yellow spray ink around my page to coordinate with the yellow in the patterned papers.

I placed my title near the bottom using the letter stickers from the collection and raised them using foam adhesive. I used a circle punch to punch out a few of the sentiments in the circles such as the “Adventure” airplane and the “world traveler” icon and placed them in the circles as well.

I added a banner and the “Let’s Stay Longer” sentiment that I fussy-cut from the Baggage Claim patterned paper and wrote my journaling at the bottom of my page so my overall design would be diagonal and more visually evened out. The Let’s Go collection was perfect for my recent vacation photos, but would also be great for any short road or day trip picture.

I want to thank you for joining me today and I want to thank Bella Blvd for having me as a guest designer. I had so much fun creating with these lovely collections and I hope I’ve given you all some inspiration!
