Welcome to our new feature, "Beyond The Theme". While Bella has plenty of collections that can be used for everyday layouts, cards, and other projects, we also have a wide assortment of more themed collections. You might dismiss a themed collection at first glance, thinking it doesn't fit in with your scrapping needs. If you take the time to look at them more closely, you'll find that most of our themed collections are actually very versatile. This month, we're challenging our designers to think "beyond the theme" while working with our Riley & Rover collections.
“Coming Soon”, by Becki Adams.
Since we don't have a cat at our house I was excited for the challenge to create a layout that wasn't themed around a cat using the Riley collection. I created a layout about when my brother and his wife told me I was going to be an Aunt again. I used the b side of several patterned papers, borders, and the grey alphabet from the Treasures & Text sticker sheet. I added a few stickers, some machine stitching, and a few splatters of ink to finish my layout.
Supplies:
Riley: Treasures & Text, Trinkets, Borders, Tabby Cat, Friendly Feline; Crochet Hearts: Saltwater; Enamel Dots: Ice, Enamel Doodads: Ice
"Hair Cut", by Jennie McGarvey.
Both Riley and Rover are so fun! I love all the cute paw-prints and cat and dog images. However, there are so many other ways to use this collection! I love the black and the grey and how they can really translate to a great boy page!
Supplies:
Riley: Soxie, Fishbone, Friendly Felines, Treasures & Text; Rover: Loyal, Borders, Dog Show, Treasures & Text, Trinkets; Ciao Chip Elements: Flowers & Clouds; Enamel Dots: Ice, Guacamole
“Love You Forever” card and treat box, by Corri Garza.
All the Bella Blvd paper collections have paper patters that can be used on all types of projects. The color combination on the Riley and Rover collections are perfect for making masculine cards. My gift set was inspired by the colorful hearts pattern paper. The small treat box was cut with my Cameo and a file that I found in the Silhouette Store. I love how the trio of hearts is duplicated on the box and card. This set would be perfect for a guy's anniversary card.
Supplies:
Rover: Loyal, Trinkets; Riley: Borders, Daily Details, Fish Bone, Treasures & Text; Little Bits: Blueberry; Enamel DooDads: Milk White
Loving how everyone used this collection outside of the box!!!!! FABULOUS!!!!!!!!!!
