Hello, this is Patricia Roebuck, and I am so excited to share a page of my Bible Journaling with you today. I recently did a study on the YouVersion app that used one of my favorite scriptures, Job 38, where God responds to Job.
My Father and Father-in-Law died of cancer. My Mother-in-Law dropped dead of a massive heart attack. My Mother never woke up one morning. I wouldn’t compare myself in anyway to Job, but I definitely questioned God as to why He didn’t heal my Father and FIL. Why did my MIL and FIL die so very young? There’s been lots of healing and finally peace to overcome these ‘why’s.’ When I came across this passage, it reminded me that there is a bigger picture to our Faith and what God wants for us.
I gathered the Illustrated Faith kit, the Whatever is Lovely collection, some paints, clear gesso, and my journal Bible.
I spread a thin coat of the clear gesso over my page first. Once dry, I then added just a dab of paint to a clear acrylic block. Then using my paint brush and a glass of water, I dipped the brush in the water to apply to the dab of paint. Spread it around a little, then pressed it onto my page.
I added a few different colors until I got the look I wanted. Next, I added a dab of paint to my paint brush, dipped into the glass of water, and dotted around the watered down paint onto the white alphas from the IF kit. The alphas got pretty wet, so be very careful to let dry and peel off to use.
Once I had my background, I created my reminder using stickers, my handwriting, and stamps along the margins.
God knows our hearts, and this verse reminded me the bigger picture is eternity, and not our earthly lives. There’s more to come. I think to question God is being human and also being childlike. It helps us communicate and strengthen our relationship with God and allows Him to speak to us through passages like this to see just a glimpse of His divine greatness.
Thank you so much for letting me share my faith and the margins of my Bible with you today!
Absolutely GORGEOUS Patricia!! Always love your creations!!!!!!!!
