Bella Blvd Studio Blog: Bella Blvd & Illustrated Faith

Hi everyone! Stephanie Buice here today to share a new way that I started illustrating my faith with you.

I love playing in my journaling bible, but I thought it would be a fun thing to add it to the column of my planner. I have added paints to my weekly spreads before but adding I really wanted this to be something that inspired me all week long...I think it will do just that!

First I gathered all my supplies and picked a color combination that I've been loving lately, then I got to work adding my paint to the column on the left and a few others on the pages.

I really like adding inserts into my spreads so I went ahead and painted a piece of paper on the side. I really didn't pay much thought to it, just using it to wipe the colors off my brush as I went. In the end I was left with a simple matching piece that I cut down to about 5.5 x4 inches.

Once my paint dried I started writing out my verse in stickers. James 1:17 "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change" (ESV).

I always end up moving things around, so I try not to lay my stickers down flat until I know my game plan.

After I had my verse in place I went got down to the next fun part of embellishing it, I added in a few things here and there but it pretty much stayed the same this time.

Here is a closer look at the left side of my weekly spread, I like things cute and colorful.

And a better look of the verse, this has got to be one of my favorites. It's a good reminder to stop and thing of where my blessings really come from. God is so good!

A look at the left side, I really like the Sunday column where I tore the washi tape in strips.

This is a close up of my center inserts, You can see my painted one layered in there underneath of the rest. Instead of adding in a picture this week I decided to use some bits and pieces from the Whatever Is Lovely Collection.

And so you don't wonder why I didn't show you what was hiding under there here is a look at the page with my inserts turned over. The Ciao Chip flower with the "Jesus Saves" sticker is one of my other favorite parts.

I think it's safe to say that this spread was one of my most fun by far, I really like how it turned out and the encouragement that it will bring me throughout the week. I will definitely be doing this again and again! What other ways have to tried illustrating your faith?
