This week, we thought we would spend a few days focusing on our Invisibles specialty papers. We've gotten lots of requests to see how our designers are incorporating them into their projects, as some of you might be a little unsure of how to use them. We hope you'll be inspired by the ideas our Creative Team members came up with, and put them to use in your own projects.
"Peace, Love & Sunflowers", by Kat Benjamin.
I love the Invisibles, but I know it can be hard to figure out how to work them into a layout. I did this in 3 different ways: I layered part of an invisible over my patterned paper to add a little bit more texture, I fussy cut 3 different invisibles and scattered the cutouts around my page or put them in my title and I placed an invisible underneath a die cut title to add more interest. I love that invisibles are just that - invisible! I think they add so much interest to a page when you can see the patterned paper behind them.

“Minion Love”, by Jennifer Chapin.
I'm not sure about your house, but right now at mine, my kids are obsessed with all things Minion! I had this photo of my son with all his Minion gear and wanted to scrapbook it. Lately I have also been having fun mixing up my page sizes; this page is actually a 6x8. At first the smaller scale may seem a little intimidating, but I encourage you to give it a chance and try it out! For my focus on Invisibles, I used the Chit Chat transparency for the background and the Brilliant star pattern to back the photo. I incorporated lots of yellow with the black and white, and also added a Minion tag from the hat my son has. Don't feel limited either by the shapes that the Invisibles come in -- they are great to add as a whole to a 12x12 layout, but my favorite thing to do is cut them up to use bits and pieces on projects! I have a guillotine-style paper trimmer, and they cut like butter. If you don't have a cutter that will work, just go ahead and use a pair of sharp scissors which does the trick as well. I hope you will try some creative ways to use them soon!
