Happy National Scrapbook Day everyone! We have so much to share with you today, so we hope you'll keep popping in throughout your day. I challenged all of our designers to create an "All About Me" layout, giving us a peek into a little part of their lives. Each of them also answered five quick scrapbooking related questions. We will be sharing these layouts, hour by hour, for 11 hours today. So sit back, grab a snack, and get to know our designers just a little bit more, and hopefully their projects will inspire you the next time you go to create!
“It's Me”, by Kristine Davidson.
I am often using circles and squares and this time I tried something different to add more patterned papers to my layout - Triangles! All sizes of triangles and several papers were used to add color and punch to my page. This works great for left over scraps of paper too!
Supplies:
Color Chaos: Punch Standz, Orange Strandz, Bell Pepper Strandz, Pickle Juice Strandz, Gulf Strandz, Daily Details, Treasures & Text; Tiny Tots: Daily Details; Classic Calendars: Ice Calendar & Borders, McIntosh Calendar; Amorie Chipboard Alphas: Peep; Ciao Chip Elements: WhatNots, Flowers & Clouds; Enamel Dots: Oreo Black, Punch
And now for some scrapping Q&A's:
1. What are your top 5 supplies/products that you cannot scrap without?
Pop dots, sewing machine, die cuts, twine, and my OTT Lamps!
2. What do you listen to while you scrap? TV, music, or do you do your best working in silence?
I don't watch television while I scrap, I usually sit in complete silence in my scrapbook room. I often have my window open and listen to the natural surroundings.
3. What snacks and/or drinks are beside you when you're scrapping?
I don't snack while I scrapbook. I do have a bowl of goodies such as peanuts, crackers, grapes and cheese, or some sort of chocolate treat on my computer desk.
4. When do your do your best scrapping? Are you a morning scrapper, a late night scrapper, or do you find time during the day?
I love scrapbooking at night. I am more relaxed and don't feel guilty that the sun is shining or my to-do list is being neglected.
5. When the creativity isn't flowing, what do you do to get back into your creative zone?
I use sketches, browse Pinterest or cut a background file with my silhouette. Having a template makes creating so much easier when I'm stuck.
“I Am Mom”, by Becki Adams.
The new Invisibles make the perfect addition to any background. It adds a little bit of interest to any background. On this layout I used half of the “Day at a Time” Invisible to make my photo stand out even more. This layout documents how I have many different "titles" and that the title of Mom is the one that is the most important to me. I love being called mom, nothing makes me happier than simply being a mom.
Supplies:
Color Chaos: Words Of Wisdom, Oreo Black Strands; Ciao Chip Elements: Symbols, Hearts & Stars; Sienna Chipboard Alphas: Frosting; Invisibles: Day At A Time; Simply Spring: Pink Gingham, Chipboard Icons; Campout: Let's Go Camping
And now for some scrapping Q&A's:
1. What are your top 5 supplies/products that you cannot scrap without?
Paper trimmer, patterned paper (and white cardstock), paper doilies, letter stickers, a great quality black pen, and decorative tape (narrowing it to 5 just didn't work for me ;).
2. What do you listen to while you scrap? TV, music, or do you do your best working in silence?
I'm a Netflix junkie. I always have a TV show going on my iPad at the top of my desk. I love Friends, Downton Abby, Call the Midwife, Scandal, Parenthood, and How I Met Your Mother (see, I told you I was a Netflix Junkie).
3. What snacks and/or drinks are beside you when you're scrapping?
I love Dr. Pepper but I'm trying to drink more water these days. I almost always have some sort of chocolate in my desk drawer (unless my kids have been at my desk, then, they are grounded).
4. When do your do your best scrapping? Are you a morning scrapper, a late night scrapper, or do you find time during the day?
Most often I create during the day. I can tell you that I'm most definitely not a morning scrapper. Not.at.all. I like my sleep way too much.
5. When the creativity isn't flowing, what do you do to get back into your creative zone?
If the creativity isn't flowing, I usually need to step away from my desk for a while. If it's a project that I have to get done I'll spend a few minutes browsing Pinterest or an online gallery. When I find an image that inspires me I start from there. I'm most often inspired by a title or theme that I see on someone else's work.
Some more beautiful LOS! I love all of the inspiration!
