Happy National Scrapbook Day everyone! We have so much to share with you today, so we hope you'll keep popping in throughout your day. I challenged all of our designers to create an "All About Me" layout, giving us a peek into a little part of their lives. Each of them also answered five quick scrapbooking related questions. We will be sharing these layouts, hour by hour, for 11 hours today. So sit back, grab a snack, and get to know our designers just a little bit more, and hopefully their projects will inspire you the next time you go to create!
“This Is Me”, by Kat Benjamin.
When we were told to do an “about me” layout, I knew I had to make it as colorful as possible. I love colors and so I drew on the awesome rainbow color palette that Bella Blvd is famous for, selecting papers from three different collections and including matching embellies. I think the end result is totally fun. And definitely represents me!
Supplies:
Color Chaos: Orange Strandz, Punch Strandz, Treasures & Text; Star Student: Brainiac, Daily Details, Treasures & Text; Campout: Daily Details, Let’s Go Camping, Treasures & Text; Simply Spring: Treasures & Text; Molly: Treasures & Text; Invisibles: Chit Chat; Ciao Chip Elements: WhatNots, Hearts & Stars; Designer Tape: Chlorine Dot; Enamel Dots: Milk White, Punch, McIntosh, Bell Pepper; Enamel DooDads: Guacamole, Ice, Bell Pepper; Bella Bows: McIntosh
And now for some scrapping Q&A's:
1. What are your top 5 supplies/products that you cannot scrap without?
Enamel Dots, Tiny Attacher, Label Stickers, Date Stamp and White Cardstock
2. What do you listen to while you scrap? TV, music, or do you do your best working in silence?
Usually TV. I don’t scrap a lot during the week because I work fairly long hours, so I use the weekend to catch up on my scrapping and my DVR’ed shows!
3. What snacks and/or drinks are beside you when you're scrapping?
Gum balls. Always gum balls. I’m like a little kid, I know, but gum balls make me happy and get my “scrapivation” up!
4. When do your do your best scrapping? Are you a morning scrapper, a late night scrapper, or do you find time during the day?
Weekend mornings are my most creative time.
5. When the creativity isn't flowing, what do you do to get back into your creative zone?
I browse Pinterest. I am definitely inspired by the creations of others. I love seeing when someone has used a cool technique and then I try to figure out how I can use that technique with my style.
“Lisa Lately”, by Lisa Dickinson.
Sometimes I get a particular color combo in my head that I must use on a page. Recently I wanted to try pink and carmine red together, but was having trouble finding products in this particular shade of red. The Just Add Color collection was the perfect solution! I used a carmine red ink pad to color in some of the flowers on the b-side of the Star Struck paper. I also used a lighter shade of pink ink on a few more flowers and then trimmed them all out. I adhered them in clusters around my page, with vellum leaves and some black & white accents mixed in. I cut a large title from carmine red card stock and layered the white Amorie chipboard letters over the top. I love the page that resulted and that I was able to customize pieces to perfectly match the color scheme in my head!
Supplies:
Simply Spring: Spring Patchwork; Color Chaos: Words of Wisdom; Just Add Color: Star Struck, Trinkets B&W; Amorie Chipboard Alphas: White; Ciao Chip Elements: Hearts & Stars; Enamel DooDads: Milk White
And now for some scrapping Q&A's:
1. What are your top 5 supplies/products that you cannot scrap without?
My Silhouette Cameo, patterned paper, alphabets, buttons, and foam adhesive.
2. What do you listen to while you scrap? TV, music, or do you do your best working in silence?
I catch up on podcasts on various topics…comedy, scrapbooking, and crafting.
3. What snacks and/or drinks are beside you when you're scrapping?
Coffee! And if it’s night scrapping…then wine!
4. When do your do your best scrapping? Are you a morning scrapper, a late night scrapper, or do you find time during the day?
I squeeze it in whenever work & family allows, but usually it’s during the day when my kids are at school.
5. When the creativity isn't flowing, what do you do to get back into your creative zone?
Browsing Pinterest almost always gets the mojo flowing!
Wow wow wow! These are FABULOUS!!!!!!!!!
