Today we are switching things up, and instead of featuring projects using our paper collections, we are sharing projects created with our fabric collections!
Camo Shorts & Shirt, by Jen Chesnick.
Who says boys get to have all the camo fun? Max was one of my favorite paper lines, so I was equally as thrilled to see it come to life in fabric. My daughter LOVED the camo prints. I recently bought the Coachella Shorts pattern and knew it would be perfect for the design.
I made bias tape from the skull fabric instead of using a trim. Pom Pom trim would also look pretty cool on them!
For this shirt I merged two applique designs, Love For Boys & Military Patch (both from Planet Applique), to create the final Love Patch pattern. It's a perfect little outfit for play!
Supplies:
Bella Blvd Military Max fabric by Riley Blake Designs, Elastic, Bias Tape or Trims, Heat N Bond Lite, Medium Cut Away Stabilizer, Wash-away Stabilizer, Embroidery Machine, Notions
Sunglass Cases, by Kathy Frye.
So exciting that Bella Blvd has a new boy fabric line, MILITARY MAX, and it is so cool! Lots of camo, green army men, skull and crossbones along with some plaids, words, dots and stars. I have 4 grandsons that are 6-10, so these fabrics are perfect! Their current season is baseball, so I made sunglass cases.
For one of the cases, I sewed a row of the words (Funny Nice Strong Kind Intelligent Strong) to the blue camo fabric.
On another I used primarily the black skull fabric with a strip of the white skull fabric as an accent. The other two are each made from one fabric with a contrasting casing (for the cord) at the top (that fabric is from the Puppy Park fabric line). I used fusible fleece for a little added protection and added a plastic toggle cord lock to cinch the cord. Fun and useful project!

Riley Blake Designs markets our fabrics under Stephanie Hunt as the designer. When purchasing or searching the Riley Blake website it's actually easier & more efficient to find the Bella Blvd fabrics under "Stephanie Hunt" as the artist.
So cool, great stuff!
