One medium that we see our designers using again and again on our Invisibles and Clear Cuts specialty papers, as well as our new Just Add Color collection, is acrylic paints. Jillibean Soup has an awesome collection of Happy Hues paints, and they were generous enough to send a set of paints to our designers, as we knew they would pair up perfectly with our Bella products. All this week, we'll be sharing projects from our creative team, showing creative ways to incorporate paints onto your layouts and cards.
“Six”, by Jennifer Chapin.
I just knew that the new Happy Hues paint from Jillibean Soup would pair perfectly with Bella Blvd's Just Add Color collection. I used a few of the black and white papers to cut large letters and filled in the images with pink, yellow and blue paint. I then cut a photo in the shape of a lowercase "i" for the middle, and dotted it with a punched Hello Kitty tag since that was the theme of my daughter's party. I adhered the letters with dimensional foam adhesive to the layout. After that, I decorated the page with journaling, chipboard and enamel dots. This is a really non-conventional title, but I love the statement it makes!
Supplies:
Just Add Color: Passcode, Daily Details, Trinkets Color; Birthday Girl: Treasures & Text; Clear Cuts: White Confetti; Ciao Chip Elements: Hearts & Stars, Flowers & Clouds; Enamel Dots: Cotton Candy, Milk White
“I Love Loving You”, by Stephanie Buice.
For this layout we had the chance to use some of the Jillibean Soup Happy Hues paints, and they were so fun! I love getting messy when I create so this was a blast. I chose to use the paints to make my background, it was a simple process where I just mixed up some colors and painted them across my page. I love the colorful rainbow look and how it really lets the black and white papers stand out. I cut my letters out of patterned paper and then again using the Invisibles layering them on top. I ended up sewing them in place instead of using adhesive that would show through in spots.
