This week, we have three talented guest designers joining us for a special "throwback" feature. These are designers that we all loved back in the day. Each of whom had their own signature style, and whose work we could recognize without even seeing their name attached to it. They were all known within the scrapbooking industry, each on handfuls of design teams, and their layouts could be seen in numerous magazines and idea books.
And then all three of them took a break from scrapbooking, for different reasons. Those breaks may have only been a year, or they may have been several years. But each of these designers recently had the itch to get back to scrapbooking, in one way or another. And we were thrilled that these three designers were up for guest designing for us this week, and we're excited to share their work with you!
Susan Weinroth is a photographer and crafty momma, who lives in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL - a sunny little community in North Florida right along the Atlantic Ocean. She’s married to her husband of 13+ years and most days she can be found chasing after their two spunky boys in their daily adventures. In her (rare) spare time, she loves to sew and quilt, read books on her Kindle, and catch up on her Project Life Album. She's expecting her third little boy this May.
Hi Everyone … My name’s Susan Weinroth and it’s so nice to be back in the “land of scrapbooking” for a day to post on the Bella Blvd blog! It’s been at least a year since I took out all my supplies and made a traditional scrapbook page, and it was honestly a LOT of fun to dive back in and give it a try again. I’ve always loved Bella Blvd products and papers – their bright colors and fun patterns are perfect for my color-centric style, and pretty much just scrap themselves!
"2014-2015 School Time", by Susan Weinroth.
I couldn’t resist using Bella’s Star Student line to create a back to school themed page for my two boys. I take back to school photos of them each year with an antique desk that I have & the photos matched the color theme of the Star Student line perfectly.
I was able to capture some basic stats for each of my son’s school year on the page, as well as their favorite part from their first day.
"Hello Love", by Susan Weinroth.
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant, and we just took the boys with us to a “for fun” 3D/4D ultrasound to get a better peek at their baby brother who will be here before we know it! I’m in love with the photos from the ultrasound and was so excited to be able to use them on my next page (and baby #3’s FIRST official scrapbook page!) along with the Color Chaos line.
The “hello” sticker just jumped out at me, and it fit perfectly over a strip of the “love” invisible overlay, making for a great “hello love” title. I pieced together lots of other bits and pieces from the line (cut-up paper and stickers raised with foam adhesive) – with my main photo and photo strip to finish it all off.
"26 Weeks", by Susan Weinroth.
My third layout was another pregnancy layout – this time with photos from a few weeks back (and journaling that I typed out then) – and again with the Color Chaos line. I ADORE THIS LINE!!!
I actually used some leftover chunks of paper against the neutral grey background. The navy/aqua/grey color theme to the page is fitting since that’s what we’re decorating the nursery with!
Thank you to both Stephanie and Laura for having me guest post this week – it was a blast to make a few scrapbook pages again!
