This week, we have three talented guest designers joining us for a special "throwback" feature. These are designers that we all loved back in the day. Each of whom had their own signature style, and whose work we could recognize without even seeing their name attached to it. They were all known within the scrapbooking industry, each on handfuls of design teams, and their layouts could be seen in numerous magazines and idea books.
And then all three of them took a break from scrapbooking, for different reasons. Those breaks may have only been a year, or they may have been several years. But each of these designers recently had the itch to get back to scrapbooking, in one way or another. And we were thrilled that these three designers were up for guest designing for us this week, and we're excited to share their work with you!
My name is Jamie Waters. I currently live in Los Angeles, CA with my husband and 4 children. I started scrapbooking in 2002 and was completely immersed in everything scrapbooking for 10 years. I was active with the magazines, design teams for manufacturers and online communities. My husband and I opened a photography studio and were shooting about 20 weddings a year. After I had our 4th child and my other children started getting older, I decided to put scrapbooking on hold. I took a little hiatus to creatively recharge, focus large chunks of my days on other things and just shut down scrapbooking wise for a few years. Last year in 2014, I got the bug again, bad. I've often looked through my many albums from the past with such fondness. I followed a few fellow scrapbookers from my past and all of a sudden had a desire to create and record again. So after a 3 year little break, I'm back. I scrapbook regularly for me and for Studio Calico, and I also work with Amy Tangerine in her creative studio. You can find more of my work at my blog HERE.
"Elsie", by Jamie Waters.
I knew I wanted to mix a bunch of the happy patterns together! Love how it turned out. I added the little bee to the title card - I think that's adorable!
"Love This", by Jamie Waters.
I attempted a monochromatic layout with all that pretty pink but ended up adding the flowers on top. Also tucked in some of the floral squares I cut out.
Easter Treat Cone, by Jamie Waters.
With Easter around the corner and the adorable bunnies I knew I had to make some sort of cute container. Being that I have to make 4 of them for our 4 children, simple is key! I went the rolled cone route and added some ribbon. The boys' didn't get photographed but I rolled the boyish transparency.
Thanks to Bella Blvd for having me as a guest designer! I just love all the colorful happy designs Stephanie has been making and loved getting a chance to create with them!
