Our Creative Team has been very busy creating with all of the new collections, and we're excited to share a few more projects with you today, using the new collections. 

“Be The Best Version of You”, by Becki Adams.

The Just Add Color collection is perfect for me. I love to add my own spin to my projects but I don't like to get too messy. On this project I was able to add a bit of color to make it my own. I love the saying "Be the Best Version of You". I cut the saying into strips and used it as a title on my layout. This layout will hang in my crafting space as a reminder to always to my best.

“Thanks” card, by Becki Adams.

Making a personalized card just got easier and more personal. I painted the flowers on this card and used chipboard letters to create the sentiment.

“Follow Your Heart” card, by Laurie Schmidlin.

I absolutely love how the new Just Add Color Collection lends itself to creativity! There are so many ways to customize it! I chose to add some color using ink pads!  I wiped some ink onto an acrylic block using three different ink pads. I then spritzed the acrylic block with water and then "stamped" it onto the patterned paper! So fun. After the paper was dry, I layered on some chipboard, stickers, and Enamel Dots!

“Life Is Sweet” card, by Lisa Dickinson.

The fun doodled patterns on the b-sides of Just Add Color are the perfect canvas for paints and watercolors. I used the Jillibean Soup Happy Hues (watered down for a more translucent look) to create this rainbow card. Once the paint dried, I added Little Bits stickers and Enamel Dots and Doodads on top of my colored stripes. The result is a happy, colorful card sure to brighten anyone’s day!

“In My Heart”, by Jennifer Chapin.

Recently we lost our family dog of 12 years. While it has been difficult, I immediately thought that the release of this collection was perfect to make a page in memory of our sweet dog. Before he passed, I did a little photo shoot with him out in the yard so I would have some pictures to remember him by, and now I'm really glad I did. I used patterned paper for the background, with a vellum overlay to make the pattern a little more subtle. For the title, I used the Amorie chipboard alphas, with a chipboard heart in place of the 'a'. The sentiments on the stickers in this collection were perfect for this layout also. I hope you can get your hands on this collection; it really is perfect to document our pets which hold such a special place in our hearts!

“Hey! You're Sweet” card, by Jennifer Chapin.

It's easy to think that the new Rover collection would work for scrapbook layouts and mini albums, but did you know that it is perfect for cards as well? The Daily Details patterned paper includes many elements that work with cards too. I used a few of the 2" squares, popped up with foam adhesive. I added a sentiment with the McIntosh Amorie chipboard alphabet and new Little Bits stickers. Finished off with a scalloped sticker border, this is a cute card to give to a friend!

We are such a dog loving family (we have three) and I was thrilled when I saw the new Rover Collection! Those sweet doggie faces on several of the papers and stickers make my heart melt! I created an all-occasion card using several of the new papers and stickers! I spelled out the "woof" title using the Amorie Guacamole chipboard letters.

“Meow”, by Lisa Dickinson.

It was hard to pick just a few of the cute Riley papers to use on this page, so I created a striped background to use almost all of them! I added zig-zag stitching between each paper strip, and framed the sides with scalloped border stickers form the Treasures & Text sheet. The “Meow” card from the Daily Details sheet was perfect as a title block next to my photos. I used vellum circles edged in twine to hold three clusters of embellishments that form a visual triangle around the page.

“You Are So Very Purr-Fect For Me”, by Stephanie Buice.

My inner crazy cat lady was very excited to see a brand new kitty collection, since before our son came along our pets were the main focus of my pages. It was nice to go through some of our photos and finally get them into albums with a fun new collection. I like all the patterns in this collection so I decided it would be fun to find a way to fit lots of them on here. I cut them in strips and arranged them along the bottom of my page and cut them on an angle. I left some blank space in the middle of the page to keep it from looking too busy, and finished it off by adding all my stitching.

For my card, I adhered some cut up strips from the Borders paper. I added several stickers and a Crochet Heart for embellishment.

"All Good Things Are Wild & Free", by Heather Leopard.

My daughter loves flowers we took a trip to the flower fields. She walked through the fields pointing and picking and smelling. It was a super fun day that I'll treasure forever. To create this layout I combined a mists with water and painted in (and outside of) the lines for the flowers. Once dried, I applied gesso in a thin layer over the section I reserved for the title so that the title would pop on the page and not get lost in the sea of color. I also used the water colors to color the white alpha chipboard so that certain words would stand out. I filled in the rest of the title in with alpha stickers and then added Little Bits phrases as small details that help tell the story better. And of course I framed up my photo and added a few embellishments to tie the page together.

“You Are Enough” card, by Stephanie Buice.

Ever run into the problem that your pattern paper just isn’t the right colors you need? Well Just Add Color was the solution I needed for my card. I needed some pink flowers to match the Punch Little Bits so I took my water colors and water brush and colored some of the flowers from the floral patterned paper in the collection. They made the perfect match! For the rest of my card I punched some little banner flagsand added some ink drops on them to incorporate the rest of my colors, now I have a cute spring card to a friend. Just Add Color made it so easy!

April Guest Designer: Danielle Flanders

We are so excited to introduce you to our talented April Guest Designer, Danielle Flanders! Let's get to know a little more about Danielle and check out the projects she created to share with us!

Hello, my name is Danielle Flanders. Thank you to Bella Blvd for allowing me to make a few projects for you today! I am a former K-2 Elementary Teacher with a degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology as well, but am a stay-at-home-mom now to 2 girls. Taylor is 15, and Kati is 9. I’ve been working with paper for about 15 years, but recently I’ve been into card making more than anything else.  I really love working with the smaller palette and enjoy adding color, pattern, dimension and layers, but also a little bit of white space to allow the eye to rest. Currently, I’m designing for a few great companies and recently filmed a class with Craftsy on working with layers and dimension in cardmaking. I hope you enjoy these ideas I have for you today!

I love adding large elements to a layout, so trimming out these butterflies from the lovely papers gave me a starting point to work with some great pattern and color! I decided to watercolor the background in sort of a rainbow effect with pinks, oranges and yellows. Then I added the butterflies in coordinating colors across the top to anchor the photo and journaling, which is about my relationship with my 15 year old right now...getting a little bumpy as any teen/mom relationship, but I know things will come full circle again one day, and I have to allow her to fly right now! It's so hard to let them go though, isn't it? I always write notes to my girls about my current feelings. I hope one day, these will have great meaning to them. Until then, it's a creative outlet for me... and a therapeutic one at that!

“Hello” card, by Danielle Flanders.

This was the first card I started out making when I received my box! I love using a white embossed background and then adding pops of color to the front by cutting pretty papers out with dies and layering many interesting details! The trendy font in the Color Chaos line is my favorite, so I had to incorporate that hello sticker!

“Celebrate Today” card, by Danielle Flanders.

This card pretty much built itself. I love the Color Chaos line, and this card was just trimmed out of one of the papers. The font and colors are so trendy! I added some vellum hearts trimmed out with a heart die, folded them in half and just adhered half of the hearts for dimension. Tip: Use Glossy Accents and attach the hearts to the white portions of the card to hide the adhesive better. Seam binding wrapped around the card adds softness and dimension also.

“Heart” card, by Danielle Flanders.

This is one of my favorites, as I love the colorful splashes on the background paper! I cut out a heart die to place over the top. This allows little bursts of color to show through, but still keeping some white space to let your eye rest! A few stickers and chipboard pieces finish it off and add a little focal point in the front.

Here I used several of the Ciao Chipboard Whatnots sayings on my card and placed them at different angles for a whimsical feel. A die cut word added over the top creates more dimension and a large focal point.

Last, I wanted to use all of the cute border stickers and chipboard borders together to add lots of color and create a pretty background. I trimmed a saying from one of the Color Chaos papers and die cut it out with a frame shape to add over the top.
