Who doesn't love a good sketch? It helps to take the guesswork out of the page and/or card design, but still allows you to put your own spin on things just be turning the sketch or altering it here and there. A few times a month, we'll be bringing you a new sketch, and showing you a few takes on the sketch by our designers. Today, we have our first sketch for February, courtesy of Becky Fleck.
"Let's Go On An Adventure", by Kay Rogers.
I took my daughter with the photography club last fall on a photo shoot. Jenna brought a camera and had a blast! Apples were in season, so I used those colors from the Color Chaos line to echo the feel of the photos.
Supplies:
Color Chaos: Bell Pepper Strandz, Treasure & Text, Trinkets; Enamel DooDads: McIntosh
“You 2”, by Kelly Holbrook.
I loved this sketch! To scale it down to size, I decided to make use of all of the cute cards from the Daily Details paper in place of extra photos. This was a perfect opportunity to use a scalloped edge Invisibles paper, and I was excited to find that slightly less than half is a perfect fit for one side of my 8.5x11 page. To finish it up, I scattered Black enamel DooDads down the center in place of buttons.
Supplies:
Color Chaos: Scallop Strandz, Daily Details, Treasures & Text; Simply Spring: Treasures & Text; Invisibles: Pink Posies; Enamel DooDads: Ice, Oreo Black; Designer Tape: Chevron Combo
"So Lucky", by Allyson Meinholtz.
This was a fun sketch to work with, as it worked out perfect for my four photos of four silly girls. These photos were taken last year for St Patty's Day. I pulled a lot of green papers and products from various collections, and then halfway through I decided to add a POP of pink.
