Today we are sharing some free-for-all projects from our designers, where they have free reign to use whatever collections they like as they create. And today, it looks like our designers were all inspired to create with the new Star Student collection!
“Super Smart”, by Wendy Antenucci.
I began designing this layout with the Daily Detail card in mind. I wanted to try out the Clear Cut pieces giving my layout a little bit of interest without the added color. I chose to sandwich my pictures between different borders adding color to the layout, while still keeping the photos as my focus. I used stars and the color green to draw your eyes around the layout. And who could resist that cute owl chipboard piece? The linear design allowed me to use more busy colors and patterns without causing the photos to disappear.
Supplies:
Star Student: Chemistry, Borders, Brainiac, Daily Details, Artistic Clear Cut, Chipboard Icons, Treasures & Text; Enamel DooDads: Guacamole, Milk White
“3rd Grade”, by Diana Fisher.
I just love the bold patterns and colors in the Star Student collection for my son's school layouts. The fun glasses and doodles give the page a trendy geek vibe, and I love it!
Supplies:
Star Student: Art Journal, Geek Chic, Treasures & Text, Trinkets; Color Chaos: Peep Strandz; Enamel DooDads: Oreo Black
“Teacher’s Pet”, by Kelly Holbrook.
I'm really excited about the Star Student collection. We homeschool, and usually I don't do 'back to school' photos, just a shot of each of the kids working on their first subject of the day. But, this past fall, I decided that there was no reason why I couldn't do a full first day of school photo shoot. I'm so glad that I did. This collection highlights them perfectly!
Supplies:
Star Student: Chemistry, Borders, Daily Details, Treasures & Text; Amorie Chipboard Alphas: McIntosh; High Five Alpha Stickers: Green; Designer Tape: Yellow Chevron; Enamel Dots: Milk White
“Back to School” card, by Kathy Martin.
The new Star Student collection gets an A+ from me! I love the bright colors and the school themed icons. Like the eye glass printed Geek Chic paper I used as a background for the Daily Details stack of books card! Accents include the all new Enamel Dots and DooDads, along with my all-time favorite, Trinkets and a wise owl from the Treasures & Text sheet. Bella Blvd makes mixing and matching made easy!
Supplies:
Star Student: Geek Chic, Daily Details, Treasures & Text, Trinkets; Enamel DooDads: McIntosh; Enamel Dots: Milk White
“Thanks Teacher” card, by Laurie Schmidlin.
I love making cards and gifts for my boys' teachers! Now that they are getting older, it's hard to find really fun papers that aren't super young looking. Because the new Super Smart collection has such a diverse design (can be used for young and older kids), it is hands down my favorite school themed collection ever! To create the file folder looking card, I folded a piece of cardstock so that the folded dimensions ended up being 5 x 3 3/4. I then cut off 3/4" off of just one flap and rounded all four corners. I embellished with coordinating Super Smart Ciao Chip pieces, stickers, and some new Enamel Dots and DooDads.
Supplies:
Stars Student: Chemistry, Art Journal, Treasures & Text, Chipboard Icons; Enamel Dots: Bell Pepper; Enamel DooDads: Oreo Black
“Great Job” card, by Shellye McDaniel.
When incorporating square journal cards into a card design, think of using a 6X6 sized card base and keep everything perfectly square! Here, the yellow dot patterned paper was accented with a square of the Typewriter Clear Cut, which was machine stitched in place. The sentiment was accented with a few fun pieces from the Star Student Collection and kept clean and simple!
Supplies:
Star Student: Art Journal, Chemistry, Daily Details, Treasures & Text, Trinkets, Chipboard Icons, Typewriter Clear Cut; Enamel Dots: Blueberry
