Welcome to "What's New Wednesday"! Every Wednesday, our designers will be sharing projects using the latest and greatest products from Bella Blvd. Especially our newest collections, which our designers are having so much fun creating with!
“Thankful”, by Sheri Feypel.
I am a sucker for all thing fall and this line quickly became one of my new favorites! I love the fun, warm color combos in this line and couldn't wait to pair it with some of my favorite photos. I wanted to use all of the patterns, but I maintained some self-control, so I tried to pick just a few. By a few I really mean 6 different patterns, yup only 6. Once I decided which patterns to use I started building my layout right in the middle of the page, around one photo. I then added all sorts of goodies like feathers, Die Cut Pieces, Trinket stickers and a couple of other random embellishments. I'm honestly starting to think that I cannot make a Bella Blvd project without adding a few feathers.
Supplies:
Hello Autumn: Falling Into Fall, Gatherings, Day Dream, Autumn Floral, Time To Rake, Borders, Trinkets, Paper Pieces; Feathers: Orange, Gulf, Pickle Juice
“Tick Tock Croc”, by Kelly Holbrook.
I started this layout by punching off-center holes out of two inch circles. Next, I filled the circles in with 3 colors of patterned paper to match the photo. After arranging the circles in a pattern for my background, I added a strip of striped patterned paper and designer tape along the left side. The photo, title and journaling went on next in a split design to not cover up too much of my background.
Supplies:
Tiny Tots: Alphabet Soup, Sweet & Sassy, Love to Learn, Borders, Treasures & Text, Trinkets, Paper Pieces; Designer Tape: Gray Dot, Red Chevron, Yellow Chevron; Flags: Baby Boy; Amorie Chipboard Alphas: Guacamole; High Five Alpha Stickers: Black-White
“Spooks Galore” card, by Kathy Martin.
One of my favorite Bella Blvd embellishments are the Paper Pieces die cuts. They’re perfect for accenting cards! From the Halloween Magic set, this large heart with Halloween poem is my favorite. So fun! Using a couple cording papers from the collection, I gave the heart a frame and topped it with a few small accents, creating a fun Halloween card in just minutes.
Supplies:
Halloween Magic: Boo Buddies, Hocus Pocus, Paper Pieces, Trinkets, Treasure & Text
“Colors of Fall” card, by Kathy Martin.
Adding layers and texture to my cards is my favorite technique! And for autumn themed projects, I think the addition of burlap and jute lend a perfectly rustic feel. Mix in some Hello Autumn patterned papers like ‘Time to Rake’ and a few Paper Pieces die cuts and you have a lovely fall greeting!
