Welcome to Trending Thursday, where we pick something we are seeing trending within the scrapbooking industry and ask our designers to focus on that trend as they create their projects to share with you. This week we are focusing on hand cutting our titles and card sentiments.
“Happy Halloween”, by Katie Rose.
I decided to take a look back at my daughter's Halloween costumes through the years on this layout. For the hand cut part of my title I actually used a die cut file that I purchased on Etsy and then cut the letters on my Silhouette Cameo. It really gives the look of being hand cut without actually having to do the cutting by hand! I backed each of my photos with patterned paper and then stitched around them all to add some more texture to the page.

"Spread Your Wings And Fly", by Laura Vegas.
I really love the look of hand cut letters for titles, which is something I've been seeing a lot of lately. I knew I wanted to try out the idea, but I also knew that I would overthink it, as I couldn't see myself just randomly cutting out letters and having them look good. I sketched out my letters on tracing paper, making sure they would fit on the page where I wanted them, and then fine tuned each letter to get it just how I wanted it. I then cut out each letter and flipped them over and traced them onto the backside of my patterned paper, cutting them out once more. I told you I would overthink the idea!

“Autumn Thanks” card, by Laurie Schmidlin.
For the hand cut letters part of this card, I chose a die that looks like handwriting. I chose a couple of papers from the new Hello Autumn collection. The large heart layer is from the Hello Autumn Paper Piece pack. For embellishment, I added a Ciao Chip, some stitching, a Crochet Heart, and a Bella button.
Supplies:

“Boo” card, by Laurie Schmidlin.
To create this Halloween card, I started by pulling out several papers from the Trick or Treat Collection. I wanted to create a spooky, night scene. After stitching the background layers together, I hand drew some letters on a coordinating patterned paper and then cut them out. I wanted them to look a little messy so I purposefully made them a little bit different in size. I finished the messy look by roughing up the edges a little. I added some stickers and a Bella Button for embellishment.
Supplies:
Trick or Treat: Captions, Cobwebs, Itsy Bitsy Spider; Too Cute to Spook: Alpha+Bits; Button Market: Orange Stars
These are all fabulous! LOVING the titles and the sentiments!! LOVING how Katie did Halloween over the years!!!!!
