Welcome to Monday Morning Challenge, where we offer up a challenge, and share with you our designers take on that challenge. Today we asked our designers to use 6 or more photos on a layout, along with multiple strips of patterned paper.
“Business Girlfriends”, by Stephanie Smokovich.
Owning a business in the craft & hobby industry lends itself to a lot of inspiration and plenty of new friendships. Meeting creative people from all around the world is one of the perks of the job, and getting to see the designers, colleagues, customers and friends at trade shows is a great way to connect, if even just a couple of times a year. I tend to collect several portrait "let's take a picture" photos throughout the years, so I decided to start printing them smaller so I can fit more of them on a layout. Who would have thought I'd make so many friends through print, pattern, design and scrapbooking?! I had to, of course, keep this page girly and happy, just like all the trade shows are!
Supplies:
Molly: Sketch with Style, Borders, Unlimited Text, Treasures & Text, Miniatures; Birthday Girl: Borders; Sand & Surf: Flying High; Sienna Chipboard Alphas: Frosting; Button Market: Feminine Mix; Crochet Hearts: Bell Pepper

When I saw the challenge to use 6 photos and photo strips my mind went right to my son's first haircut. I had a bunch of pictures, none real great, but they told the story and I thought paper strips went with the cutting hair theme. I printed out my pictures in a smaller format and grabbed some white cardstock to use as my base. Since the main colors of my pictures were yellow and blue I grabbed my Tiny Tots collection and pulled from there for the layout. I chose the fun multi-colored stripe paper to give my layout boundaries and then I chose the Daily Detail card to stay calm and the love you square piece as my main inspiration. Since these were both blue I used some yellow mist to splatter on my page to add the yellow I wanted. I love using vellum baggies for mementos, so I added in my son's hair and sewed the baggie shut to always keep it safe. I arranged my pictures around the baggie and the Daily Detail until I was happy with the flow. I added strips to continue the diagonal feel of the layout. To fill in the empty spots I drew some lines for my journaling and added some clouds on opposite sides. A few stickers and the layout was complete.
