Welcome to Monday Morning Challenge, where we offer up a challenge, and share with you our designers take on that challenge. Today we asked our designers to incorporate at least 5 different colors into their project designs.
“Soccer Star”, by Kelly Holbrook.
It's not hard to use 5 colors with Bella products. Most of the papers have at least that or more on any given sheet ;) I combined the Lucky Starz and Max collections for this photo of my son, Owen. I chose 5 colors from the Starz papers, and had fun picking out embellishments to coordinate with each one.
Supplies:
Lucky Starz: McIntosh Starz, Pickle Juice Starz, Oreo Starz, Scallop Starz, Surf & Turf Starz, Treasures & Text; Max: Shark Attack, Treasures & Text, Trinkets, Paper Pieces; High Five Alpha Stickers: Green; Amorie Chipboard Alphas: McIntosh; Crochet Hearts: McIntosh, Pickle Juice; Designer Tape: Chevron Combo, Navy Dot
“Little Miss Personality”, by Jen Chesnick.
Using color is not a challenge for this girl. However using them in a way that doesn't overwhelm the whole project can be! So I stuck with a white background. I punched 1/2' circles (my new go to punch) and went to town layering in all 5 colors of pattern paper. I really love the mix of colors in Tiny Tots. It's so fitting for my child with a big personality!
Supplies:
Tiny Tots: Toy Chest, Watch Me Grow, Love to Learn, Alphabet Soup, Sweet & Sassy, Flashcards A-L, Flashcards YZ123, Paper Pieces, Trinkets, Chipboard Icons, Amoire Chipboard Alphas: Blueberry
“Merry Christmas” card, by Shellye McDaniel.
To begin, I chose the round Santa die-cut as my inspiration for this card. I followed in line by die-cutting larger circles from various "Christmas Cheer" papers and then layered them together. I added some machine-stitching as well as hand-stitching to the circles. I created a visual triangle with the hearts and the holly embellishment.
Supplies:
Christmas Cheer: Jingle All The Way, Christmas Crew, Trinkets, Paper Pieces, Chipboard Icons
“Owl Be Your Friend Forever” card, by Shellye McDaniel.
The little owl journal cards is one of my favorites, so I just had to use it! I trimmed the card down, corner rounded the bottom edges and added a strip of border sticker to the top for extra color. Next, I clustered a trio of Crochet Hearts together at the top and added one of the Trinkets stickers to the center. The base paper is so colorful that you can mix in just about any Bella Blvd color!
Supplies:
Hello Autumn: Trinkets, Autumn Floral, Daily Details, Treasures & Text; Crochet Hearts: Saltwater, Pickle Juice
Gorgeous!! LOVING the grid design on Kelly's lo ... and loving how Shellye was able to incorporate this challenge on cards!!!!
