Friday Sketch: Layouts

Who doesn't love a good sketch? It helps to take the guesswork out of the page and/or card design, but still allows you to put your own spin on things just be turning the sketch or altering it here and there. A few times a month, we'll be bringing you a new sketch, and showing you a few takes on the sketch by our designers. Today, we have our first sketch for June, courtesy of Becky Fleck.

“Watching You Grow”, by Nicole Nowosad.

I loved the clean lines of this sketch and stuck very closely to it for this page. Love the new Treasures & Text sticker sheets and combined elements from each sheet on the page. Instead of the vertical banner on the page, I popped several sticker stars along the left side of the layout.

“Turbo”, by Kelly Holbrook.

Although I had to scale everything down a bit, I stayed pretty true to the sketch. Eliminating white space, and using one medium photo instead of three small photos was key in converting it to 8.5x11. I combined all three of the new mini collections in this layout.

“Electrical Parade”, by Allyson Meinholz.

For this layout I mainly used the Scattered Sprinkles collection with bits and pieces of the other new Bella Blvd Collections. The background paper, McIntosh Sprinkles, SCREAMS Disney to me. So I decided to work on a layout from the Electrical Parade. I added black stars to resemble the lights. For my side border I used card stock stickers and buttons with to add dimension.
