Who doesn't love a good sketch? It helps to take the guesswork out of the page and/or card design, but still allows you to put your own spin on things just be turning the sketch or altering it here and there. A few times a month, we'll be bringing you a new sketch, and showing you a few takes on the sketch by our designers. Today, we have our first sketch for April. I asked one of our own talented designers, Diana Fisher, to create a sketch for us based off of a previously shared layout, by designer Stephanie Buice.
Original layout, by Stephanie Buice.
“A Friend Is”, by Kay Rogers.
I loved this sketch with the long title! I've been wanting to use my Cameo to make this sort of mask, and this was the perfect opportunity! I followed the sketch pretty closely, as I liked the placement of all of the elements.
Supplies:
Molly: Borders, Sketch with Style, Paper Pieces, Candid Cards, Treasures & Text, Trinkets; Freestyle Sophisticates: Freestyle Cotton Candy; Designer Tape: Ice Stripe
“You Light Up My Life”, by Jamie Harder.
I am always thrilled to use a good sketch to get my layout going and this one was so fun to play with! I love the long title along the side and had a blast mixing up different types of alpha stickers for a colorful look! The Molly collection is such a bright and colorful collection and mixes so perfectly with all the Bella Blvd collections! I decided to use three photos on my layout to really demonstrate my daughter’s fun personality! She definitely lights up my life :-) I hope this sketch inspires you on your page as it did for me!
Supplies:
Molly: Sketch with Style, Refuse to Sink, Borders, Treasures & Text, Trinkets; Lucky Starz: McIntosh Starz, Bell Pepper Starz, Candid Cards, Treasures & Text; Play Date: Daily Details; Sienna Chipboard Alphas: Ice; High Five Alpha Stickers: Color Wheel, Piggy-Punch; Crochet Hearts: Punch; Feathers: Saltwater
“Please Wet Your Stach”, by Allyson Meinholz.
For this month’s sketch, I had this photo in mind and I was excited to use the Max Collection (since most of my scrappy time is very girly girl). I like all the layers of this sketch and how it came together.
Supplies:
Family Forever: Family Rules, Sunday Brunch, Mom & Dad, Treasures & Text; Max: Master of Disguise, Candid Cards, Treasures & Text, Trinkets; Lucky Starz: Carrot Starz, Color Wheel High Fives
