Welcome to Monday Morning Challenge, where we offer up a challenge, and share with you our designers take on that challenge. Today we asked our designers to incorporate a long title/sentiment into their projects.
"Right Now We Have Mango To Eat!", by Leanne Allinson.
This was such a fun challenge for me, as I wanted to try and tell the story, in the title alone. The whole concept of this layout started with the Lucky Starz phrase sticker "Look on the Bright Side of Life". I immediately had the "Monty Python" song, stuck in my head and thought of my youngest. He is always cheerful and at the age of four, looking for the positive in things. The "Right Now" hash tag, also in the title, was an ideal addition to my story telling attempt, as one of his current favorite things to do, is eat mango! All I had to do next, was combine the two thoughts together with the awesome new product from the Max, Family Forever and Lucky Starz collections! My final touch on the layout, was to create some mangoes from the orange crochet hearts and green Pickle Juice arrow stickers.
Supplies:
Lucky Starz: Surf N Turf Starz, Pickle Juice Starz, Treasures & Text; Family Forever: Mom & Dad; Max: Borders, Trinkets; Crochet Hearts: Orange; Sienna Chipboard Alpha: Pickle Juice; High Five Alpha Stickers: Blue, Green, Yellow; Daily Chevies: Arrows Pickle Juice
“She Is”, by Katie Rose.
I saw this quote on Pinterest and knew I wanted to use it for a page about my daughter. I cut out the sentiment on the Silhouette and backed each line with a different patterned paper. I adhered the card stock with the sentiment with pop dots to lift it off the page. This allowed me to tuck a couple of embellishments under it on both sides. I finished up by adding my photos on the bottom and a few more stickers.
Supplies:
Molly: Sketch with Style, Sparkle & Shine, Refuse to Sink, Selfie, Peace, Borders, Treasures & Text, Trinkets, Paper Pieces; Lucky Stars: Ice Starz; Flags: Sunshine & Happiness
“Sweet & Beautiful” card, by Ashley Marcu.
I love all of the fun and encouraging words found throughout the Bella Blvd collections. Building a title or long sentiment is fun and easy with all the word choices. For this card I trimmed the "sweet" tab in to a label shape to fit my card. The ampersand helped join my sentiment together and the fun Treasures & Texts letters allowed me to personalize my message.
Supplies:
Molly: Treasures & Texts, Paper Pieces, Candid Cards; Lucky Starz: Punch Starz, Candid Cards, Trinkets; Designer Tape: Ice Stripe
“Be You” card, by Ashley Marcu.
I loved pulling out all of the fun phrases for this boy card. I paired up the alphas and phrases so the margins would be roughly the same going down the card. This allows the card to be fun and balanced.
Supplies:
Max: Shark Attack, Treasures & Texts; Family Forever: Mom & Dad; Lucky Starz: Color Wheel High Five
Ohhhhhhhhh I love love love all of these!! Off to pin them!!!
