I think everyone enjoys getting to peek into other designers scraprooms, right? It's fun to see how others store and organize the same types of products and tools that so many of us have. And while many of us have totally different ways of setting up our spaces, or have totally different types of spaces that we're working with, you never know when you'll see a new way of storing or organizing products that you can incorporate into your own space.
Scraproom Share, by Katie Rose.
Over the years I have had my scrap space in several different parts of my house. When my kids were little I enjoyed have my scrap room downstairs in a small room off my kitchen. As my family grew I quickly ran out of space. A few years ago I decided to move my scrap stuff to a room over our garage. We originally intended this to be a playroom but that never really panned out. Now it is the perfect place for a scrap room! I also use this room as an office as I do most of my work from home. And as you'll see from the pictures, it has also become a play area for my daughter.
That big blue "chair" is actually a corner piece from our sectional that is downstairs. It is not the prettiest piece of furniture but it functions well in this room, and we really have no other place to put it:)
This shelf is on the edge of my daughters play area and is just mostly hers but I am slowly taking it over. This is where I keep my project life cards.
Next to that shelf is my paper cart which I have had forever … or so it seems. I use the cropper hopper paper holders up top to store my patterned paper and card stock. And on the bottom is a 3 drawer bin which is where I store my scraps. This works really well for me.
And here is my desk … where the magic happens! I am a standing scrapper so it is raised up. I do have a stool just in case. Under my desk is where I keep my sewing machine and typewriter.
On top of my desk are two sets of drawers from Ikea. I store little bits and bobbles here … for example my wood veneer.
And this is how I store my clear stamps. My dad gave me this when I opened my business intending for me to use it for work but I quickly found a home for it in my scrap room! I used to store letter stickers in it but now use it for stamps. I love that I can just flip through it and find the stamp I want to use.
I love this little corner next to my desk.
Most everything in this corner I use for Project Life. In the silver bucket are things I use a lot, like scissors pens and date stampers. The right of that is my basket of tapes.
These two shelves used to be in my boys' room holding DVDs and video games. I like them much better here! They hold Project Life cards, ink, mists, twine, punches, and embossing powder.
This big white shelf next to my desk is where I keep my Bella embellishments!
My big Expedit shelf is where I store stuff that I don't use every day. I keep my albums here, idea books, some stamps, ribbon, etc. The little dry sink next to it holds more albums as well as lots of older pictures that I like to thumb through and scrapbook.
Behind that big blue chair is a white craft table. This is where I spread everything out while I am scrapbooking. It is never this clean! Under it I store extra albums/page protectors, a box to mist in, a big box of supplies that I don't really need anymore but am not ready to part with. I let my daughter use a lot of this box.
On the other side of the room is my other desk used mostly for work. I do keep my Silhouette over there as well as more punches and min albums. And clearly I need a big girl chair :)
So that's my scrap space. Hope you enjoyed a little glimpse into where I create!
