We are back with another spotlight feature, focusing on mixing and matching different patterns from different collections to create our projects. One of the great things about our collections is that so many of the same colors show up in collection after collection, making it easy to mix and match papers into countless combinations.
“Love You More”, by Jennifer Chapin.
Mixing patterned papers is one of my favorite techniques when it comes to making pages. For this layout, I decided to go with a pie chart theme and I knew I wanted to use 6 different patterns. I chose two with black, for a bolder look to add contrast, and placed these pieces opposite one another. For the other four patterns, I chose blue, yellow and gray, 2 with a strong pattern and 2 with a more subtle one. I also paid attention to color and tried to balance it throughout the layout. After adding pictures, embellishments, and some stitching my page was complete!

This is my last scheduled post for Bella Blvd. I can't believe it has been a year already, and what a fantastic year it has been! This layout spotlights one of my most favorite things about Bella Blvd papers ... the fact that you can mix and match papers from almost any collection! The ombre trend is still holding strong in scrapbooking and so I made an ombre effect with some of the summer-y colored Bella Blvd pattern papers on this layout. I have used papers from all five of the new Bella Blvd collections! When deciding which papers to use, I picked a color scheme first and then pulled out papers from each collection that fell in the cool color spectrum. It was really a fun way to create a layout! Next time you are looking for a challenge, see if you can make a layout using papers from different collections. Can you use something from the Trick or Treat collection and the Christmas Countdown collection in the same layout?

”Happy Birthday” card, by Carina Lindholm.
I love mixing papers from different collections, and with Bella’s playful papers it is such an easy thing to do. Almost all collections match perfectly. When I try to match papers from different collections I start of by choosing one paper first with a color or pattern I like and try to find other papers that matches that one. On this fall themes birthday card I used papers from the Halloween, Christmas, Play Date and Daily Chevies collection. And you see, they match perfectly!
Supplies:
Daily Chevies: Chevy Gulf; Play Date: Little Birdie;
Trick or Treat: Leaf Storm; Christmas Countdown: O Tannenbaum; Crochet Heart:
Gulf; Designer Tape: Orange Stripe, Pony Stripe, Polka Dot Combo
