Bella Blvd Studio Blog: On-Going Guest Designers: Jodi Wilton & Juliana Michaels

When we were choosing our 2012-2013 Design Team back in September, we had a few additional designers that we just weren't ready to pass up. So just like last year, we decided to invite these designers to join our team this year as On-Going Guest Designers. They will be sharing projects with us every other month, and we are excited to share their work with you.

“I Love Mud”, by Jodi Wilton.

This is one of my favorite photos of my daughter from last summer! She loved to play at the beach, and get VERY dirty! I wanted to bring some color into the photo by using the colorful beach ball patterned paper as my background paper, and then add some neutral tones to bring out her love of mud! The crochet hearts were the perfect touch to go along with the theme of the layout!

“Sisters by Chance, Friends by Choice”, by Jodi Wilton.

I absolutely love how all of Bella Blvd collections can come together for the exact look you are going for! For this layout I took a variety of patterned paper from different collections, to make it work with my overall theme!

“Mr & Mrs”, by Juliana Michaels.

These photos were taken at my niece's recent wedding just as they were being pronounced husband and wife! I love how I was able to capture the joy on their faces with my photos and I really wanted to relay this joy on my layout. The green was not initially planned, but I really wanted to use the green "bride & groom" sticker. I knew though, that I needed to add more green somewhere else on the layout to give it a more cohesive look. That is when I started searching through my Bella Blvd products for more green. The Pickle Juice Chevron Designer Tape and the Sand & Surf Beach Balls (green) patterned paper did the trick. I added the tape first and still felt like it needed more movement so that is when I pulled out my circle punches and went to work on the green patterned paper. I then added the pink sequins for a little bit of bling.

“The First Dance”, by Juliana Michaels.

I took a lot of photos the day of my niece's wedding and these two photos of them from their first dance again captured the happiness and joy of their new life together. This layout again started with a sticker...the "first dance" sticker inspired the use of the bits of blue on this layout. I then added strips of color from the Love and Marriage Borders paper to further embellish around the photos.
