Happy National Scrapbook Day everyone! I challenged 24 of our designers to create an "All About Me" layout, giving us a peek into a little part of their lives. Each of them also answered five quick scrapbooking related questions. We will be sharing these 24 layouts throughout the day. So sit back, grab a snack, and get to know our designers just a little bit more, and hopefully their projects will inspire you the next time you go to create!
“Favorite Things”, by Diane Payne.
I wanted my layout to have a fun springy feeling to it and at the last minute decided to use pinwheels for something different. I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut them out and finished the center off with a button. I also cut my title using my Cameo and was able to incorporate lots of great patterned papers into the layout by backing each line of words with a different print.
Supplies:
All American: American Pride; Love and Marriage: Vows, Esther Fleming Floral; Baby
Boy: Heaven Sent; Sunshine & Happiness: Popsicle Kisses, Borders; Freestyle
Sophisticates: Freestyle Banana; Button Market: Hot Pink Flowers, Pickle
Squares, Neutrals Mix, Outdoors
And now for some scrapping Q&A's:
1. What are your top 5 supplies/products that you cannot scrap without?
I love
patterned paper (especially colorful like Bella Blvd's papers) and with it I
like lots of texture and dimension in my projects so I am always incorporating
a combination buttons, flair, chipboard letters, and sewing/twine with my
paper.
2. What do you listen to while you scrap? TV, music, or do you do your best
working in silence?
My scrapbook space is above the family room so I can hear
the TV in the background. If I'm home alone while scrapping it is usually
complete silence.
3. What snacks and/or drinks are beside you when you're scrapping?
Sometimes
I'll drink a coffee while I scrap, if I'm tired.
4. When do your do your best scrapping? Are you a morning scrapper, a late
night scrapper, or do you find time during the day?
I work during the week so
most of my scrapping happens whenever I can fit it in, which is usually the
nights or weekends.
5. Be honest. Where do your layouts go once you're done with them? In albums,
in piles, or shoved in random places?
The newest one goes on display in the
kitchen on a pretty wrought iron stand, right in front of the last one that is
currently displayed. When the stand is too full to hold anymore layouts they
get moved to a cabinet. I have stacks of layouts that need to go into albums.
“36”, by Wendy Antenucci.
When we were asked to do a layout about us I figured since my birthday was just around the corner and we had just experienced some life changes what better time to document these things. I chose to use my favorite colors right now pinks, turquoise, and yellow (a new thing for me). I also love flowers, chevrons, and presents so those things also inspired my choices for this layout. I had my daughter snap these pictures of my hubby and I on our beach which we visited one night after dinner with the kids.
Supplies:
Engaged at Last: Bachelorette Party,
Bachelorette Extras, Bridal Shower, Alpha+Bits; Freestyle Sophisticates:
Freestyle Banana; Crochet Hearts: Cotton Candy; Flags: Bachelorette,
Wedding Shower; Crochet Flowers: Dahlia; Feathers: Punch, Bell Pepper; High
Five Alpha Stickers: Gulf
And now for some scrapping Q&A's:
1. What are your top 5
supplies/products that you cannot scrap without?
Mist, Patterned Paper, Finger
Knife, ATG gun, and my black Sharpie pen
2. What do you listen to while you
scrap? TV, music, or do you do your best working in silence?
After a day spent
with 5 kids, believe me I cherish the silence!
3. What snacks and/or drinks are beside
you when you're scrapping?
I usually
don't take anything into my scrap area because I don't want to spill or my kids
to spill. Although right now I sure love Hot Tamales and might have a few
of those in my hands.
4. When do your do your best scrapping?
Are you a morning scrapper, a late night scrapper, or do you find time during
the day?
I really don't know when I scrap the best, but I scrap whenever I can
get everyone occupied. A lot of times this will happen during rest time
1-3 when the kids are in their areas and I take some time to regroup. I
do also scrap at night if my hubby will keep an eye on the kids or a good movie
is on.
5. Be honest. Where do your layouts go
once you're done with them? In albums, in piles, or shoved in random places?
I display my layouts, then they go into the
correct album (assuming I have enough album pages).
Love these layouts and the colors they used. Total inspiration for today!!
