Hello! My name is Wendy Sue Anderson and I am so excited to be joining the folks here at Bella Blvd as a guest designer this month! I live in a little mountain valley in Utah – and I love scrapbooking and paper crafting. I have been married to my sweet husband, Brad, for almost 19 years and we have four amazing kiddos – one daughter, Meagan, and three sons, Josh, Seth, and Zach. They keep me on my toes, but also provide me with plenty of opportunities to take photos and tell stories!
I have been very fortunate to be involved in the scrapbook industry for about 12 years and I have loved every minute of it. I spend lots of late nights working at my craft table – and even though I lose oodles of sleep, it’s totally worth it and I wouldn’t want to give it up! Right now I’m lucky to be working as a contributing editor for Scrapbook Trends magazine and the Create: Idea book series in addition to contributing to several fun manufacturer design teams. Thanks so much to the folks here at Bella Blvd for asking me to create some projects with their gorgeous products!
"Zachary", by Wendy Sue Anderson.
I received two very fun sets of product to use for the projects I want to share with you today. The first set of product (and my favorite Bella Blvd line ever) just happened to be the sweet baby boy line. I just love the grays mixed in with the soft (but not pastel!) baby colors. The chevrons and multi-color stripes are my absolute favorite, and that’s what I used predominantly on this layout of my baby boy.
I love Bella’s sticker sheets – I can always find the perfect little “something” to add to my projects!
And speaking of embellishments … these sweet buttons are such a fun addition to any project.
I’m also a big fan of baker’s twine – so I searched my stash to find the perfect orange twine to coordinate with the papers.
"I Love You" card, by Wendy Sue Anderson.
I couldn’t resist creating a card featuring this fun chevron print elephant!
I wanted to switch out his ear for a yellow patterned paper to coordinate with the border sticker, so I just cut the shape from another paper and added it with pop dots. Not only do I like the color better, but I like the subtle bit of dimension it added.
"Sunshiny Sunday", by Wendy Sue Anderson.
The other set of product I was lucky to work with was the “Spring Flings & Easter Things” line. This line is so bright and happy – I was excited to use two different chevron patterns and lots of other colorful coordinating embellishments to create this layout showcasing a photo of my kiddos on Mother’s Day.
I cut the rainbow and umbrella from the cardstock sheet and layered them on top of the background – I just love using pop dots to add subtle bits of dimension whenever I can.
You’ll also see plenty of machine stitching on my projects – another favorite technique of mine! Here’s a little cluster of coordinating embellishments. There are so many fun little stickers and chipboard pieces to choose from, it’s hard to pick just one. I’m sure glad I don’t have to!
I usually hand-write my journaling on my layouts, so these fun journaling cards are perfect for me!
"Thanks" card, by Wendy Sue Anderson.
Speaking of journaling cards – I fell in love with this little journaling sticker and couldn’t wait to use it to make a card!
Even though it’s pretty simple, I love how the patterns and designs work together subtly to create something eye-catching!
I had so much fun creating these projects! Thanks again, to the Bella Blvd team, for allowing me to share my projects with you!
