“Cake Smash”, by Brook Stewart.
I am in love with the colors and patterns of the new Birthday Boy collection! They matched up perfectly with the photos from my littlest guy’s first birthday. I really wanted to document the “Cake Smash” part of his birthday because it was so special and fun! I was so happy to see a new color in the grid paper pattern with this collection…this one will be another staple in my collection, for sure!
Supplies:
Birthday Boy: Eat Cake, Just a Note, Borders, Cute Cuts, Alpha+Bits Stickers, Just Write Stickers; Flags: Birthday Boy 1, Birthday Boy 2; Ciao Chip Alpha: Sienna Blueberry; High Five Alpha: Yellow; Designer Tapes: Pickle Juice Chevron, Yellow Chevron, Orange Stripe
"Toad-ally awesome" card, by Gretchen McElveen.
I had to do it! I could not resist! I had to use the cute frog from the Cute Cuts sheet to make a 'toad-ally awesome' card! It is too cute! The 'birthday boy' here is actually from the strip that you would normally cut off the patterned paper and throw away. No need to waste it, though! Use it!
Supplies:
Birthday Boy: Cute Cuts, Just a Note, Borders, Eat Cake, Flags 2; Designer Tapes: Orange Stripes; Button Market: Outdoors

"The History of Her Cake", by Becky Williams.
This is such a fun birthday collection. I thought the birthday hat on the Cute Cuts sheet would make a fun little embellishment on my baby girl's head!

Birthday Girl Collection: Miles of Smiles, Sugar Rush, Celebrate, Cute Cuts, Party Dress, Alpha+Bits Stickers; Designer Tape: Orange Stripe, Gulf Dot; Flags: Birthday Girl 1; Sophisticates Ciao Chip Sienna Alpha: Punch; High Five Alphabets: Green
"Smiles Begin With You", by Laura Vegas.
I loved this cute little sticker from the Just Write Journaling sticker sheet, and it just so happened that it was the perfect width to add to the front of a card. It's actually a quote sticker, but I cut off the little quote part, and then adhered it using pop dots, so that I could tuck my flowers under the edge. I also fussy cut some flowers from the Party Dress pattern paper, crumbled them up, and layered them together usingn pop dots for lots of texture.
Supplies:
Birthday Girl: Miles of Smiles, Party Dress, Borders, Sugar Rush, Just Write Journaling Stickers; Button Market: Hot Pink Flowers
Birthday Girl 3D Altered Frame, by Laura Vegas.
I came across this unfinished, wooden shadow box frame, and I knew right away what I wanted to do with it. Create a fun tabletop decor item, that would be perfect for any little girls birthday party.
I painted the unfinished wood frame with white paint, focusing on all of the edges and corners that I knew my pattern paper would not cover. Then I cut strips of paper and decopauged them onto the frame using Mod Podge. I brushed an additional coat of Mod Podge over the top of the papers, to add a nice shiny finish to them.
I trimmed a TON of 1/2 inch x 12 inch strips of pattern paper, using just about every sheet from the Birthday Girl collection. I then cut each strip roughly in half, eyeballing it, since they didn't need to be perfect. I took a pencil, and one by one, I rolled each strip tightly around the pencil. After holding it in place for a few seconds, I slid the rolled piece off the pencil and then loosened it back up a bit. Kind of like you would do when curling your hair :)
I took the "Eat More Cake" sticker from the Just Write Journaling sticker sheet, adhered it to a scrap piece of cardstock, and added small strips of punched scalloped edges cardstock around the edges. I glued together about 8 small blocks of thick cardboard (cut from a box), and then adhered my sticker on the top and glued it in the center of the frame. This raised up the sticker, and allowed me to fill up the rest of the shadow box frame with the curled strips of pattern paper, tucking them under the sticker as well.
Supplies:
Birthday Girl: Celebrate, Dancing Queen, Miles of Smiles, Party Dress, Sugar Rush, Borders, Just Write Journaling Stickers
