It's time for another Product Spotlight feature, and this month, we are putting the focus on Bella's Designer Tapes!
Washi tapes have been a huge trend in scrapbooking lately, and we were excited to release our first batch of Designer Tapes at Winter CHA this past January. These pretty little rolls of tape come in fun, bright colors and patterns, that go with all of Bella's collections. There are so many uses for tape on layouts, cards, and even altered projects. I challenged some of our Design Team members to use our Designer Tapes in new and creative ways.
"So Much Love", by Kim Arnold.
I love how I was able to create such a bright and happy layout without using a single piece of patterned paper – the designer tapes provided all of the color I needed. I have used the tapes in two ways. First, I used it to create a frame around the layout. Second, I cut heart shapes from cardstock and then covered them with strips of different colored tapes. I then mounted them onto the layout using foam tape. To add a little more interest, I added a cluster of super-cute Bella Blvd embellishments to the largest heart.
Supplies:
Designer tape: Teal Stripe, Red Dot, Pink Stripe, Blue Gingham, Pink Flowers, Yellow Chevron, Pickle Juice Dot; Flags: Love; Button Market: Feminine Mix; High Five Alphabets: Pink-Red, Black-White; Crochet Flowers: Daisies
“Crazy Day”, by Julie Johnson.
Designer tape can be so much fun on a layout. For this layout I cut pieces of the designer tape and folded back each edge of the tape to form a triangle. I then layered the triangles on top of each other. At the bottom of the page I gathered up the designer tape and for the top of the page I made border strips with the folded back corners.
Supplies:
Mr. Boy: Alpha+Bits stickers, Chit Chat Chipboard, Heroes; High Five Alphabet Stickers: Pink-Red; Button Market: Pickle Squares; Flags: Boy
"For A Super Great Friend" card, by Gretchen McElveen.
I wanted to make a cheerful card to send to a friend and because the Designer Tapes come in such fun colors, they were just what I needed! I used the tapes to create a colorful "rainbow" background for this card. Then I just added a chipboard flower (embellished with a button center) and a simple sentiment to complete the card!
Supplies:
Designer Tapes: Red Dot, Pink Flowers, Yellow Chevron, Pickle Juice Dot, Teal Stripe, Blue Gingham; Sophisticates: Card Sentiments; Sunshine & Happiness: Chipboard Icons; Button Market: Fruit Punch
“Hello” card, by Alice Carman.
Today’s challenge was to find another creative way to use Designer tape. I thought I would use the tapes as a background and as a frame. It makes it easy to create something in a jiffy.
Supplies:
Designer Tape: Teal Stripe, Pink Flowers: High Five Alphabets: Black-White; Flags: Floral; Too Cute to Spook: Alpha+Bits
