With Christmas right around the corner, Kim Holmes has plenty of last minute gifts to buy. It's tough these days to find just the right gift for someone, and we often resort to buying gift cards. One thing that keeps gift cards from being so impersonal is a homemade gift card HOLDER! It tells the recipient that you cared enough to spend some extra time on the presentation-even if you resorted to a gift card! ;) Bella's December Details products are perfect for creating a homemade gift card holder! So here's a step-by-step for you!
Step 1: Start by making a sketch of a Christmas stocking. Don't worry about perfection! Using your template, trace and cut out one front and one back for every gift card you holder you want to create.
Step 2: After creating another template for the toe and heel of the stocking, trace, cut and glue them to your stocking front(s).
Step 3: Add a rectangle to the top of your stocking back, overlapping the top of your stocking just a bit.
Step 4: Next, cut out the top front of your stocking. Kim used a piece of white felt, but you can also use plain cardstock too. Add some trim to the bottom if you wish!
Step 5: Place front and backs together and stitch around the outside edges. Fold a scrap piece of patterned paper for your stocking holding.
Step 6: Adhere stocking holder in place and embellish as desired!
And here's a few more quick and easy gift card holder ideas created with Bella's December Details products! Hope you're inspired to create your own now! What do you think, not too hard huh?!
These are so cute! That stocking is such a fun idea :) Thanks for the inspiration!
