Designer Spaces & Tips: Michelle Lanning

I am not lucky enough to have my own scrap room - but I am lucky enough to have a really long closet for my scrap space! I love that I am able to close the door and the mess is gone! As you can see, this photo is my space in use. lol!

 

One thing that I love about my space is my punch door. I used my daughter's old shoe organizer as a home for all of my punches. Since I obviously cannot see what is in each little pouch I used some kraft paper and black cardstock to make the little "sample" punches. It was super easy! 

 

It's also been very easy to add onto as well. I just punch out the new design and add it to a pouch that has room.

As part if their Guest Designer feature, we've asked each of March's Artistas to give us a peek into their scrapbooking room! Kim Arledge is sharing her personal space with us today! She says,

This is a work in progress. My scrap room was initially a dining room. 

When I started scrapbooking in January 2006, I was immediately hooked! The more supplies I bought the more space I needed. This is when I decided to convert my tiny dining room into my scrap room. As of now I am using an old 1940's dining room suite and an antique stereo to store my many many supplies and layouts.

 

I have since overflowed into an extra storage closet until I can remodel my room to better suit my needs. I figure anyone can use what they have until they can grow and fine tune the space that fits their needs. I kinda like the idea of mixing antique finds with modern day organizers. 

My goal is to eventually change out the furniture to white pieces and place hanging shelves on the wall. Regardless of what I do and don't have, this space is my sanctuary...it truly is my favorite place in the house!

In the Press: Bella Buzz

Being featured in a magazine might be a monthly thing for many manufactures, something that might not stir up too much excitement seeing that it's a regular occurrence. I must admit, I get giddy and am so ridiculously excited when I see Bella Blvd featured in a magazine, or anywhere else for that matter. It's an emotional thing, knowing that Bella Blvd is growing, and the exposure is proof of that!

This most recent Spring 2010 Issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today features guess who on the front cover?! Bella Blvd's Super Stud patterned paper, Planetarium! This is another first for Bella, having product showcased on the cover!

Then, low and behold as I continue to read the issue I find this... 

Bella Blvd's Estate Sale collection is picked! The product is now shipping and in your local and online scrapbook stores today!

Bella's March Designers!

So excited to launch the beginning of our newest Bella Artistas today! We have changed up the "program" a bit in hopes to keep it fun and fresh. Each month, we will introduce you to 2 new Artistas. The gals and their work will be featured at various times throughout the month. They've completed sketches, challenges and more to share with you, including their at-home scrapbooking space! Without further ado, March's new Bella Artistas.... Michelle Lanning and Kim Arledge.

I am in love with... decorating! Second to scrapbooking it is my favorite hobby to do! If only the funds for that would come more easily! ha!

I am not... a cook. I can bake with the best of them but cooking is not my forte!

Three words that describe me.... mommy, creating, organized!

If you could trade places with any other person for a week, famous or not, living or dead, real or fictional, with whom would it be?  Oprah, because who wouldn't want to see what it's like to be her?

Tell us about one of your worst habits... Being insecure about everything. A habit I have tried to break but it is hard! Also, not flossing....shhhhh!

 

My favorite place to shop is.... Archiver's and Scrapbook.com 

What would we find in your refrigerator right now?  Sour cream, salsa, tortillas and cheese...these are the staples in my house!! Yummo!

 Not to be morbid or anything, but if you had only 6 months left to live, what would you do with your time?  I would try to spend every moment I could with family. I would write letters to my kids and videotape conversations I would have with them at certain milestones in their lives, and before I was too sick to travel, I would have my dream vacation with my husband touring Europe.

Tell us about one of your worst habits... I pick at my nails. When I have nothing to do or when I get nervous I will pick at them until I make them bleed. Yuck, I know!!
