My daughter lovingly termed our room the "Project" room at about 18 months old. We lived in a house where we had a little room with a HUGE walk-in attic connected to it, and I had all of my sewing stuff and her art stuff set up in that space. She also had a ton of little push toys and books in the attic that we used as a playroom. As soon as we started breakfast everyday, she would beg to go up and make a "project!" So, in every house since then our space has been dubbed the "Project Room," and rightly so, because we do everything from photo shoots to quilts, egg dying and knot tying in here!
Most of my major scrapbooking taking place on this unfinished kitchen island.
I have a couple of cutting mats laid down (mostly for sewing), but they allow me to be able to cut directly on my surcace, punch holes before I hand stitch or just paper pierce a design without worry. On the wall beyond the island I have placed 12x12 cork pieces for an inspiration wall. Eventually that is going to be a big wooden door, with green paint that has chipped off over time. (I already have it out back adn just haven't found the best way to hang it yet!)
Just beyond that is my sewing table.
I love that my machine is always set up and readily available for me to easily stitch something on a card or a page. I typically sew on everything! My ironing board is also standing right next the desk so that I can put it to use when necessary (although my husband swears that everything EXCEPT his pants actually get ironed!) Just above the table I have a shelf with some jars for storage. I keep my embroidery floss and some stamps in those. The five is for our little family of 5!
The big round table you see in the first photo is the kids art table. Since the very beginning all three of my kiddos have been interested in creating and they HAVE to be in the same room with me while I'm working. So rather than trying to push them out I decided to make my space for them and so I have a lazy susan right in the middle of their table with little mason jars for crayons, markers, paint pens, glue scissors, etc. Audrey has her own scrap bag and embellishments that she keeps togehter and organized in the basket! Playdough happens here, as well as snack time, homework and anything else you can imagine! (Side Note: Magic Erasers have done great things here!!)
The big antique hutch is from my grandmother's house.
I have an old Coke flat that holds my embellishments that are separated by colors.
I have an old basket that stores stamps. I have three tins stacked up that hold ribbons, inks, and fabric pieces. I also have antique mason jars filled with embellishments (also separated by color!) In the cabinets below, I have mini albums and embellishments, stamps and idea books.
My paper just stands in this antique green planter, or in my big drawer in my island. There is really no rhyme or reason to how it is organized.
My punches are thrown in this little drawer that is just the right height for them!
Here is one last view from our Kitchen.
And one final project for the week by Nancy Holley!

Love your space - it's looks like there's so much room. The color is great and you've done a good job repurposing items for storage. It's no wonder you can create such cute and happy layouts.
