Bella's Big Week, Day #3: Give-Away, Radio Interview + So Much More!

Happy Wednesday my peeps! It's hard to fit all the things I want to share with you into one post today. 

1. Today I will be on the radio! What?! For real! Danielle at the Diva Craft Lounge Radio has invited me to be a guest in her Entrepreneur Series! It's so cool, I know! We'll be chatting about all things Bella and scrapbooking! The show will be timed at 12:10pm Pacific time! If you missed it this afternoon the interview will be updated on their website archives by 9:30 tonight. You can check it out by going to the website, scrolling down and clicking "Listen Live"! The show will be posted on the website only a couple hours after it has been taped! I'm so excited about this!

2. More sneaky-peekies.... it's like Christmas around here lately with all the new goodies in the house! Our Bella Artistas are working so hard putting layouts and projects together for our ultimate inspiration weeks (coming soon)!!

A Big Week for Bella!!

Happy Monday blog-world! Hope you had a fabulous weekend. Here in Wisconsin we are saying goodbye to the very mild summer and gearing up for Fall. I love the beginning of a new season, it's one of my most favorite things. To celebrate a season, we have some super awesome big news planned for this week! Actually, it's so big that we are going to have a Give-Away-A-Day for this entire week! 

I hope you'll stop by everyday to see what's going on! Some hints include a brand new product release, world cardmaking day inspiration galore and so much more!

We gave Bella Artista, Allyson Meinholz, a challenge to start off our week of inspiration here at the blog....we asked her paint on a layout!

Allyson tells us, "First thoughts when I recieved this assignment was YIKES!! I don't have paint nor own any paint and NEVER used paint . . . but it is a Challenge and a Challenge for me!! A bit messy ... which anyone who knows me know I don't care for messy! And it's a bit time consuming ... which again - mommy of 3 time is limited! But overall, I did like the outcome, and was inspired by a challenge in the CK issue 'Punching A Border and Using as A Template' (That is just what I did!) I also painted on the sticker letters."

Designer Spaces: Krista Hanna

Materials Used: Plastino collection including Bermudas patterned paper, Bits A Bella and Carla Bell Pepper.

My scrapbook room is as unique as me- it is a finished attic room. The previous owners of our home had decorated the room with sunflowers and some pretty wacky colors, I'm hoping to paint the room soon!

It is important to me that my children get to enjoy creating just as much as I do, so I keep a special area for them in my scrap room where they can paint or play with playdoh and messes are not a problem. I am honestly amazed at how many of my tools my son has learned to use from watching me, he cuts and paints, ties my ribbon, uses my glitter, and I think he knows how to operate my Crop O Dile better than me! This is my work area. I use my grandma's old dining table where I do the majority of my projects. notice my cute pink chair ;)You may notice that my table looks dirty, and there's an explanation for that! I consider myself to be more than a scrapbooker- an artist. I play in all different sorts of crafts and I don't mind getting dirty, in fact, when I am "in the zone" is when I get the dirtiest- and that's when my best creations are made!

Built in storage- displaying part of my HUGE prima collection and buttons, of course it has to be *decorative* just like everything else I do ;) also displaying some of my mini albums here.

Designer Challenge: Krista Hanna

Using Bella's Super Stud boy collection, journal with stickers.

About the challenge:

My son could definitely own the title of "Super Stud"! When I looked at the paper for the first time I knew that it just "fit" him! Lucas loves to make people laugh and his preschool teacher has even told me she expects to see him winning an emmy someday for best comedian. 

Journaling with stickers can take many routes, and the Super Stud stickers provide a lot of really cute sayings. I decided to combine the sayings along with my own handwriting on the journaling stickers, and honestly I normally do not journal on stickers, so this was something different for me. I really like how my journaling was able to flow easily thanks to the sticker prompts.

These Label Additions stickers have been so popular ever since Bella Blvd debuted our very first collections. There are pieces including photo corner, journaling blocks, titles, quotes and more!

Designer Spotlight: Krista Hanna

Hi, my name is Krista and I am a work at home mom in a small Kansas town called Coffeyville. My husband and I have a son and a daughter who are my ultimate scrapbook inspiration. During the day I provide daycare for up to twelve children besides my own, and I love sharing my love of art with all of the children, plus I get to work on my own projects during naptime (who doesn't love naptime?!). I have always been crafty and I am always looking for new fun things to try. I also like to cook, read, garden, and sew. 

I have been scrapbooking for 5 years, and in that time it has become so much more to me than I had ever known it could be.  Scrapbooking helps me to discover my passions and goals in life and it gives me a way to express even my deepest feelings and preserve them for my family.

 

My style is what I would call "decorative", I like to add special touches to all of my work to make it *over the top* and extra special. I have always been attracted to lots of bling and flowers, plus I love to use color and new color combinations, I can literally fall in love with not only scrapbooking supplies- but home decor or other art because of the colors or patterns on them- I have been known to come home from a shopping trip with a new outfit or a new blanket because "it looked like my favorite scrapbook paper"! I don't follow any written rule in scrapbooking, I do what feels right and looks great- I will try anything!

Krista designed this beautiful "Fun In The Sun" Banner. These pictures don't do it justice! The details are great! Dimension, ribbons, stitching....I just love it all! Krista, where are you going to hang this masterpiece when you get it back from Bella? (just curious!)

Designer Spaces: Sheri Feypel

Our designer spaces are coming to you one-day-too-late....our apologies. I am traveling this weekend in New York and have had some issues with the internet. Now, let's get on with the show. This week's featured Artista, Sheri Feypel is ready to share her scrapbooking space with all of us. 

My scrapbook area is a shared space with the playroom, or as I like to call it the toy storage area. Up until about a year and a half ago I did all of my scrapping in the dining room. Constantly packing and unpacking my supplies. I decided that I needed a space for myself and took over half of the playroom. My space is made up of an 8’ table where I do all of my creating. It’s also the cutoff of the playroom space.

Across from my table is my white cub section. I keep my die cutting machines on top of them, and most of my paper is stored in the drawers. Some of the shelves hold supplies for classes and layouts to be done. 

I have a 6’ curtain rod hanging above to display some of my favorite layouts. 

There is also a small shelf along side that I keep all of my larger punches, stamps and magazines for inspiration.

Behind me an old desk from my son’s room that I keep my Cricut on. Hanging above is my shelf full of paints and other scrap goodness. I also have a storage cabinet for embellishments and photos.

Even though I have my own space to scrapbook I still pack and unpack, because there is no better place to scrap than with friends!

Sheri's last project for the week one of my personal favorites.

I'm totally in love with the layering of patterns and Bits A Bella^tm pieces from the Camped Out Collection. Also, I love the button embellishments to the tree and all the stitching around the edges. This is such a great layout for so many reasons, but most of all because it reminds me of Fall. It's one of my favorite seasons of the year and it's just around the corner!

Designer Challenge: Sheri Feypel

Create A Page Portraying Who You Are

My challenge was to create a page portraying who I am. A challenge it was, as I don't scrapbook about myself. I rarely talk about myself, it's never about me, it's always about my family. I knew that I wanted to create a layout that was colorful, cheerful and pink!I used Bella's Sweet Celebration collection! I really love the way this layout turned out, I got the pink in there and kept it clean. This may be the start of something new, layouts about ME?!

Meet our newest Artista: Sheri Feypel

Hi, I'm Sheri! I live near the shores of Lake Michigan in Wisconsin with my husband, Scott. We have been married for almost 7 years. Together we have two sons, Jordan and Logan, a dog, Riley, and the occasional dust bunny! I started scrapping about 4 years ago, knowing full well that I would quickly become addicted. I cannot say that I have a favorite tool or product, I love them all equally! My children are the subject of 99% of my scrapping. Sometimes they are not cooperative with the camera! That's okay though, I am will to keep snapping until I get the perfect picture. Besides scrapbooking I also enjoy boating, swimming, vacationing, shopping and spending time with the family.

(I'm totally in love with this layout, Sheri! The layering, tearing, doodling,.....it's so yummy!)

Like our previous featured artista, Sheri went above and beyond our call of duty. Sheri told me she was so inspired by the new papers that she made an extra layout. I thought we'd share that with you today!

In other news, I represented Bella Blvd at a fabulous Scrap Pink event this weekend hosted by The Scrapbook Store. 80 Scrapbookers raised $3,000 for the fight against Breast Cancer! It was so cool....not to mention that everything was decorated in pink (just how I like it!) Thank you ladies to everyone that participated in the event, it was great meeting you, scrapping with you and supporting such an awesome cause! These ladies were great hosts!

The Scrapbook Store was selling Bella's brand new collections...which you can now find in scrapbooking stores near you! Wha-hoo!
