“Yum”, by Gail Lindner.
Hey there Bella fans, Gail here! For most of you, summer is over and you are preparing for the onset of cooler weather, but here in the southern hemisphere, we are looking forward to our summer starting soon! And don’t you think it’s the perfect time to document some of those summer memories before they are forgotten?
I’ve been wanting to scrapbook this photo of my youngest since last summer! It’s the very definition of hot weather in Australia: in your bathers, on a fold out chair, cooler beside you and munching on some refreshing watermelon!
I took a very mix-and-match approach with this layout! I printed out my photo and then started pulling out papers and embellishments in colors that matched. I ended up using papers from five collections on this layout!
The main design element on this page is the giant pie chart inspired feature! I simply traced a circle onto cardstock and trimmed it into pieces to use as templates. Then I traced and cut the pieces out of the patterned paper and pieced them all back together on my layout. Of course I had to add some machine stitching to each piece for extra interest and definition!
And then it was fun to pull out embellishments and phrase stickers to add in clusters around the photo, again from a few different collections. This was truly scrapping by color!
So before you start thinking about creating holiday cards (it’s not that far away!) be sure to document some last minute summer memories! Grab some fun patterns and colors and get scrapping!
