Welcome to Trending Thursday, where we pick something we are seeing trending within the scrapbooking industry and ask our designers to focus on that trend as they create their projects to share with you. This week we are focusing on using die cut backgrounds on our layouts.
“Hello Handsome”, by Stephanie Buice.
Last year my friend Rebecca took some pictures of our kiddos playing together and they will always be some of my favorites. This picture of my son is kind of an outtake of the bunch but I adore it! For months I had stared at his little profile in sonogram pictures, and I'm not sure why but this one reminds of that that. I love his little features and his nose, so fittingly I titled this layout "Hello Handsome", because after I don't know a momma out there who doesn't think her sweet boys are any less than just that.

“My Favorite”, by Becki Adams.
Subway art is such a popular trend right now. I wanted to create a background with my title cut right into it. I started with a foundation of white cardstock and then put scraps of different patterned paper behind each word. I kept the embellishments to a minimum so the title would stand out and be the focal point of my layout.
