We hope you loved Wendy Morris's December Daily album as much as we did! Today, we have two more designers that are here to share their take on a December Daily album as well. Both designers used our Christmas Wishes collection exclusively in their designs.
"December Daily" mini album, by Suzanne Sergi.
In November, I begin creating my December Daily, inspired by Ali Edwards. I love simply creating the foundation pages, so on December 1st I am ready to add my photos. I do begin some of the embellishing, but I try to keep my pages clean, so there are room for my photos. I love looking back at my journals, and seeing our family traditions being recorded. I love the annual photo with Santa, baking cookies, and decorating the tree.
The Christmas Wishes collection captures the magic of the season with the adorable whimsical designs. I love adding tags, pockets, envelopes in my book to include more photos, and journaling. It seems every year, I run out of room in my book. I love mini books, and the December Daily is perhaps my most favorite to create. This year, my sister wanted to begin recording her December, and I think this will be the perfect gift to get her started!
For the cover, I decided to use the Christmas Wishes Border paper to cover my book. I love all the different borders on this paper, and trimmed the portion that I wanted for the cover. I did add a white cardstock strip to house my title. I embossed it with the Cuttlebug, and placed it over one of the borders on the paper. It was very difficult to cover the adorable designs! One thing I was so glad to use are the Sophisticates Simply Somoina Numbers. They are the perfect size, and I decided to use them to represent the days in the book. My book measures 6" x8". I used this size last year, and it seemed to be a perfect size for documenting December.
On this page, I used one of the journaling cards to layer my embellishments. I tied gingham ribbon around the card, and adhered my day 3 on top of a white embossed circle. I could not resist using the sweet reindeer, and I did used a sparkly brad for his nose, but the bow is hiding it. This bold pattern of circles is one of my favorites, and I did use circle borders on day 2.
For Halloween, I embellished these brown paper sacks to tuck in candy for teachers, and friends. I had a few leftover , and thought it would be a fantastic in the book. Here I could tuck in my journaling, photos, or even receipts.
I used a spray mist to achieve the feel of snow on the paper. I am all about glitter for the holidays, and used three glittered snowflakes for the fun details on the sack. Bella's journaling cards are perfect for using them as they are intended, but they make the perfect backdrop to layer embellishments.
Here I added a lace paper from stash on top of a clear transparency. When I am designing my pages, I tend to build my embellishments in the corner. Thus, leaving a lot of room for my photos. I embellished the chipboard tree with a glittered star, and a chipboard candy cane. I cannot create a Christmas book without jingle bells, so hung a tiny one from the candy cane. I also adhered my day 14 right on top of the tree.
Here is the backside of the transparency for Day 15.
One of my favorite elements that Ali Edwards includes in her book are page protectors. So here, you can see I added one for Day 18. I did cover one of the openings with the pleated flower, but left the other three open, so I can add wallet size photos. I used one of Bella's chipboard borders to the front, and back edge of the protector to add another dimension.
I am a big fan of tags anywhere on my projects. So here for Day 16, I included one! I could possibly add a tiny photo right above the word Merry, however; I love it just the same.
The back side of the tag. I am a big fan of embossing on my projects, and love this snowflake folder. I also added a bit of inking to the bottom.
I pulled out one of my favorite Cricut Cartridges for this page to cut out the word celebrate. I kept my embellishing on top, so I could add a big photo here.
Finally, this is day 25, and cut out the numbers from the Cricut again, and embossed them, too. I used more stars for embellishing, and a sticker from the Christmas Wishes journaling sheet.

"December Daily" mini album, by Ebony van der Starre.
(a Summer CHA project)
I always love the idea of creating December Daily albums before Christmas each year. I love the idea of being able to record all the important and traditional events and happenings leading up to Christmas day. Having a mini album created and all ready to go makes it so much easier!
When I saw this gorgeous Christmas Wishes collection, I knew it would be perfect to create such an album.
I have used an acrylic binder album by Maya road. The beauty of using a binder album, is that I can add to my album easily if i need to!
A great way to add interest to the acrylic pages is to add some paint. This gives it a bit of an artsy feel which I love! I added various pages to this album using the different patterned papers in the collection.
Also by adding in some pockets, envelopes and tags, it makes keeping any memorabillia easy, along with lists, receipts, etc.
Not only did I use the gorgeous embellishment stickers and tags from the collection, but I also found all the alphabets and numbers stickers from the Sophisticates range perfect for this album!
We hope that you are inspired to try creating a December Daily album of your own this Christmas holiday. As you can see by these three albums that were shared, you can do as much or as little as you want in the design process. But by preparing the base of your album, and the inside pages, ahead of time ... it makes it really easy to add some photos, journaling, and maybe a few more embellishments each day throughout the month. It's a great way to document your holidays, and you will love looking back at it in years to come.
