Who doesn't love a good sketch? It helps to take the guesswork out of the page and/or card design, but still allows you to put your own spin on things just be turning the sketch or altering it here and there. A few times a month, we'll be bringing you a new sketch, and showing you a few takes on the sketch by our designers. Today, we have our second sketch for June, courtesy of Becky Fleck.
“Beautiful Reasons” card, by Laurie Schmidlin.
I love this sketch! I love to mix and match papers on my background so this sketch was right up my alley! I chose papers from the new Scattered Sprinkles collection for the background. For the focal image, I used a black sentiment sticker so that those colors would pop even more. For embellishment, I added a Bella Button to a coordinating star sticker.

“Summer Love” card, by Diana Fisher.
The two rectangles in the background of the card sketch reminded me of curtain panels. So, I gravitated to the old fashioned home feel of the Summer Squeeze strawberries pattern to make my panels. A rounded-top center sentiment finishes off this country-style card.

“Love You” card, by Ashley Marcu.
I had a fun time pairing up a vibrant patterned paper with a neutral patterned paper for my background. I balanced the look by adding all of my embellishments to the neutral side of the card! What an awesome sketch!

“Good Day” card, by Kathy Martin.
It’s a good day to have a good day when you find a Bella Blvd card in the mail created with all their latest colorful collections! To make this card, cut a white piece of card stock to 8 ½” by 5 ½” and fold in half for your card base. Then cut two of your favorite patterned papers to 2 ½” by 3 ¾” and attach to card base side-by-side. Add a photo corner on the upper right and side and Just Write calendar sticker wrapped with ribbon to the center. I added a piece of chipboard to the back of the calendar for dimension. Then adorn with accents using foam mounting tape.

“Happy 4th” card, by Shellye McDaniel.
I've had it on my mind to make a star shape from pieces of paper straw and this month's card sketch had just the right spot for it! I cut the straw into 1" pieces and then began gluing it to a piece of patterned paper. I trimmed the paper as closely to the straws as possible and then mounted it onto the center of the card with foam adhesive. I used the border strip from the Classic Calendar's paper to further highlight the theme of the design.
