Happy Monday! With today being the last day of August, and so many of us having already sent our kids back to school, it's hitting us that summer is starting to wind down. Add in the fact that I somehow missed scheduling projects and a post for today (I guess I didn't want to add a random Monday to the end of the August schedule, and then I missed adding it to the September schedule), it was the perfect time to share some summertime layouts from our very own Stephanie Smokovich. These were created last year, and never quite made it onto the blog, so we're happy to be sharing them with you today!

This certainly is a "throwback Bella layout!" I mixed and matched some of my very first collection (2009 All Inclusive) with some newer Sand & Surf and All American. It's fun to go back and see how the colors will cross between my older and newer stashes. I rarely mix and match black and white photos with color ones, but because my nephew (the main subject of the page) is now almost 8 I thought it would be cool to make a couple of the pictures more nostalgic because in the photos he is only 2! Family vacations to Myrtle Beach, SC were a tradition for so many years. It's fun to document just how many years we have been traveling there together as a family.
All Inclusive: Bookin' on the Beach, Bits A Bella, Luau; Sand & Surf: Chipboard Icons; Sunshine & Happiness: Miniatures; All American: American Pride; Crochet Hearts: Orange

Simple and sophisticated was my goal for this layout. I had this awesome photo that the blues and greens were just spectacular in, that I wanted to put on a single page layout, keeping the focus on the main photo. Just a few blocks of patterns, a title and some journaling strips later and the layout was finished. Sometimes we gotta get pages done, right?!
Sunshine & Happiness: Petal Power, Miniatures; All Inclusive: Bits A Bella, Ocean View; Sand & Surf: Chipboard Icons, Stick Pin Flags; Button Market: Checkers; High Five Alpha Stickers: Green

This little series of photographs from a beach in Greece while on our honeymoon were some of my favorite impromptu portraits of my hubby and I. Similar to the orientation of the photographs themselves I wanted to create patterned paper strips for my background. The design works well because the strips and the photographs are vertical. Embellishments are scattered in a visual diagonal line on the layout, with varying textures including crochet hearts, paper strips, chipboard and a button too.
All Inclusive: Luau, Bookin' on the Beach, Ocean View, Bits a Bella; Sunshine & Happiness: Petal Power; Winter Wonder: Icy; Sand & Surf: Chipboard Icons; Button Market: Checkers; Crochet Hearts: Orange
