"Book Week", by Gail Lindner
Hello again! It's Gail here with you today and I have a layout to share using the new Addison collection! I'm slowly making my way through the new collections from Bella Blvd (there are so many!) as I want to create projects with each and every one!
Here in Australia, most schools celebrate "Book Week" in August where they dedicate lots of activities to books! The highlight of the week is always a dress-up day where kids can wear a costume of their favorite book character! I remember doing it as a child and now my own children are starting this tradition!
This year my daughter decided to dress up as book character "Alice Miranda" and I have to say, when I saw the gorgeous plaid pattern in the Addison collection, I knew immediately that I wanted to use that to scrapbook this year's Book Week photos!
I started by adding the patterned paper that I love so much to the top of my white cardstock background. I added a border of the gorgeous pink pattern that matched my daughter's skirt so well! I cut a few strips of this paper about an inch wide and folded them into a pleat-style to add extra dimension. I then machine stitched through the centre of the pleated strip to hold it in place!
I decided to hand stitch my title on this layout! I simply used my neatest cursive writing, written in pencil (it took a few attempts!), then poked holes along and hand-stitched in my favorite color aqua! It's subtle but I really love the effect!
Of course I added a few layers of patterned paper under my photos and tucked a Designer Clip and tab in amongst the layers. I finished my layout off with some Fundamentals stickers, strip journaling and the date stamped with the Illustrated Faith Roller Stamp.
I'm loving that Bella Blvd came out with this collection right on time to match these photos! Ha ha! I'm speaking like a true scrapbooking addict right now! But I do hope that the Addison collection has inspired you like it has me!
