"Olympic Dreams", by Leanne Allinson.
Hey Bella Friends! It's Leanne here today to share a layout inspired by recent events. The Olympic Games! Every four years there is always something so wonderful that comes through as a highlight during the two weeks the sporting event is on. And Rio was no exception! My youngest is currently so very "sports crazy" that he was able to fully appreciate the recent television viewing! LOL! At seven, he now has an entire new plan to be put in motion.
I started this layout with one of my favourite photos of Cam and his new grass hockey stick. His pure joy with the game really shines through. His club colours are the same as the Aussie team (green & gold) and I really wanted to emphasize this as part of his campaign toward Olympic glory.
The Olympic Rings were also a big part of this layout. I have punched circles from corresponding patterned paper colours and stitched around the inner edge for a bit more detail.
After the placement of the circles, I've added a few layers of stickers, enamel doodads, fussy cut paper pieces and Bella bows. Each element represents something from the Olympics.
Finally I wanted a bold title. The alphas from the Color Chaos Treasures & Text collection were added to white cardstock and fussy cut. The title grounds all of the embellishments to the page and creates a cohesive overall look.
I love how a recent event can often inspire me to share a story. Perhaps this layout will have even more meaning if he ever fulfills his dreams to become an Olympian, in 2032!!
