Hi there! Laurie here today to share a couple of cards that I recently created! While I do love having specific challenges or guidelines for creating (such as a certain holiday or collection), one of my favorites is the Free For All! How I create and get inspired is to start by pulling out a bunch of gorgeous Bella papers and embellishments and just go with whatever inspires me at the moment! That is exactly what I did for these cards today. Well, with one exception, which I will tell you about below.
"Baby Boy" card, by Laurie Schmidlin.
We have some friends that are expecting their very first baby within the next few days, so I knew that my first card was going to be for them and their new son! I started by pulling out some items from the Cute Baby Boy collection. I usually lay several papers out on my desk and then start mixing and matching embellishments to see what items I will be using.
I finally decided on just one patterned paper (Barely a Wink paper) as I really wanted the adorable chipboard pieces to stand out. I added a die cut photo frame and a little vellum cardstock to the middle to finish off my card.

"Journey" card, by Laurie Schmidlin.
For my next card, I did my usual "lay out a bunch of Bella papers and see what strikes my fancy" technique! Ha! In the end, I really liked one of the images from the Daily Details paper from the Let's Go collection looked. I thought it would be especially fun to add the taxi chipboard piece on it to create a city scene.
I also added a sun and a couple of clouds from the same Let's Go Ciao Chip chipboard sticker sheet. For embellishment and to add a pop of color, I sprinkled on a couple of Illustrated Faith Enamel Hearts.
