“God Chose The Perfect You For Me”, by Stephanie Buice.
My husband and I went to a concert last month and we had a blast! We rarely get date nights so it was fun to get away just the two of us and enjoy some one on one time. We even managed to get a quick picture together so I wanted to make sure and make a layout with it.
The Illustrated Faith collections were great for this one because I really wanted to mix in some black and white patterns with some that were very heavy with color.
To start my layout, I chose the pink Take Root paper as my base. I added a white piece of yardstick onto of it then used about a half sheet of another patterned paper to cover the left side. Once I had that all in place I added a border sticker to separate the two and bring in a bit more visual interest.
I really like mixing in different fonts and stickers to make up my titles, especially if they are long ones. For this one I chose to use some chipboard letters that I painted black mixed in with some Tiny Text stickers and a die-cut piece for my “you”.
To draw a bit of attention to my journaling, I decided to use the “Love” from the She Blooms chipboard, not only do I love the color but the font is so pretty as well. I wanted my journaling to be a little note to my hubby so I used more of the Tiny Text letters to write out his name. I added in some black enamels for a bit more embellishing. On this layout I used some diamond shaped patterned papers cut and layered together, these three “bases” hold the things I wanted the eye to be drawn to. After I layered them I sewed down the center of each to hold them together, as a tip, this really helps when trying to get them in the right placement since then you’re really only moving three pieces around instead of the piles of loose papers and stuff.
Once I had everything in place, my layout still looked a little bare to me, so I decided to use some water color and add a bit of pink to the lines of the patterned paper on the left. After that was dry I added in a few paper triangles to help guide your eye around the page, I used some of the Illustrated Faith Washi Tape from this month’s kit for a fun look onto of my picture and a few other places. I then added my stitching to finish it off.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my layout, thanks for stopping by!
