Today's feature is all about mixing & matching Bella's collections. One of the great things about our collections is that you'll find the same colors throughout, whether you're using an older collection from a year or two years ago (or more!) or a newer collection that you just got your hands on. While it's so convenient to pull out a single collection and work from just that assortment of products, it can also be a lot of fun to mix and match between two, three, or even more collections.
“Daddy's Girl”, by Becki Adams.
My favorite thing about mixing and matching Bella Blvd collections is how easy it is. The tones in the colors match through all the collections. I knew that when I chose to work with pink on this collection I could pull out any pink patterned paper in my entire stash of Bella Blvd papers. I chose bits and pieces from several collections to create this layout. I chose from two spring collections and one of my all-time favorites, Molly. This layout was so easy to make. As soon as I finished it, it became one of my all-time favorites.
Simply Spring: Spring Patchwork; Sweet Sweet Spring: Her Bunny Hop; Free Style Sophisticates: Freestyle Peeps; Clear Cuts: Peep Confetti; Molly: Paper Pieces, Sparkle & Shine, Treasures & Text; Ciao Chip: Sienna Alpha Frosting; Designer Tape: Piggy Pink Stripe; Cute Clips: Rainy Days; Enamel Dots: Cotton Candy
"Be You", by Heather Leopard.
I just snapped this every day moment while we were enjoying a beautiful day on the patio of a nearby restaurant. The design of my layout was literally inspired by the food my daughter was eating in this photo. I decided to create 2 sets of tulips in a quilt type design, which I created in Silhouette by mixing triangles with different size squares. You can download the file from my blog.
I laid the tulips out in a symmetrical format but you could use them in so many fun ways on a layout. The photo is slightly larger so that once layered, it overlaps all the tulips, leaving just enough space on the sides for a long title and an area below for journaling. For my journaling, I chose to highlight specific words within words to add a little more fun to the page. It also serves as an underlying message to my daughter.
Sweet Sweet Spring: Her Bunny Hop, To Dye For, Paper Pieces; Let's Go: Taxi; Color Chaos: Words of Wisdom; Just Add Color: Treasures & Text, Trinkets B & W; Invisibles: Amore; IF Whatever is Lovely: Treasures & Text; Tiny Text: Bold & Beautiful, Wild Berries, White, Black; Ciao Chip Elements: Flowers & Clouds, Hearts & Stars; Enamel Dots: Punch
“Be Kind” card, by Julia Akinina.
I mixed all the collections to create this two cards for the Mix & Match Wednesday! I was surprised how good different collections match with each other! For this card I used 4 different Bella collections. I created many layers on my card and I used very cute card from the Daily Details – Fresh Market Collection. I love the color combo of yellow, along with shades of blue and light blue. Finally, I added a lot of star stickers and star chipboards to my card.
Fresh Market: Daily Details; IF Whatever Is Lovely: Praiseworthy, Treasures & Text; Color Chaos: Blueberry Strandz, Daily Details; Just Add Color: Passcode; Chia Chip Elements: Borders, Hearts & Stars
“Thanks” card, by Julia Akinina.
For my second card I used 3 different collections: arrows and glasses from the Star Student collection, donuts from the Family Frenzy collection, and the “Thanks” Card from the Color Chaos collection. I like to create something new from the rather old collection mixing and matching the paper and embellishments. In this case you have a huge choice of the color palette and the theme of your card. Here I used some vellum for layering and 3d foam squares for the extra dimension.
Star Student: Brainiac, Geek Chic; Color Chaos: Bell Pepper Strandz, Daily Details; Family Frenzy: Donut Day; Chia Chip Elements: WhatNots, Hearts & Stars; Enamel Dots: Bell Pepper
