Welcome to Trending Thursday, where we pick something we are seeing trending within the scrapbooking industry and ask our designers to focus on that trend as they create their projects to share with you. This week we are focusing on incorporating watercolors into our project designs.
“My Happy”, by Stephanie Buice.
What's not to love about watercolors!? Right now they are one of my favorite mediums to experiment with on layouts. For this layout I decided to try out a circular design and since it reminded me of a planet, I wanted to use the words "they are my whole world" on it somewhere. I used a mix of watercolors, inks, distress stains and gelatos to create my watercolor design and waited until it was dry. After it dried I went in with my picture and layered lots of patterned papers under it to pull your eye to the center of the page. It just goes to show that with a little patience and imagination in scrapbooking there are really no limits to the supplies you can use. I Hope you'll give watercolors a try on your next layout.

“Full of Spunk”, by Nicole Nowosad.
I have been wanting to try out the watercolor trend and this was a great chance to do just that! I decided to draw some circles and then paint them in with watercolors, and when dry, I added some fun circle stickers from a few of the Treasures & Text sheets! Once the painting and stitching was done, the rest of the layout came together easily with some Paper Pieces and more stickers!

“So Very Happy”, by Katie Rose.
I am a lover of white card stock and a lover of die cut titles from my Silhouette. But sometimes I want those titles in a different color. On this layout I cut the word 'Happy" from my Silhouette to use in my title with white card stock and then I painted it with watercolors to make it a pretty yellow. An easy way to have your cuts the color you want even if you don't have that color card stock on hand.
