Welcome to Monday Morning Challenge, where we offer up a challenge, and share with you our designers take on that challenge. Today we asked our designers to incorporate circles into their project designs.
“My Mornings”, by Kelly Holbrook.
I cropped the calendar paper down to include Mon-Fri since this is what a typical school morning looks like for me. My circles are 4" (2), 3", 2.5", and 1.5". I knew I wanted the photo in the bottom right corner, so I just played with the circles until I liked the way they looked for a background. Next, I topped with the title and embellishments, then finished by putting my journaling in the only spot left.

“Never Ending Summer”, by Wendy Antenucci.
When I first received my assignment to focus on circles, I instantly grabbed these pictures of my kids in the pool last summer and got to work on some bubbles. Bubbles of every bright color were so easy to create with my punch and the Beach Ball paper from the Sand & Surf collection. Some waves and of course a palm tree as we live in Florida were the natural additions to my page. To create a watery all over feel, I began by spraying some wax paper with my mist and water. I then laid my cardstock on the watery mist which created a subtle watercolor effect, and it kept my cardstock mostly flat. Once I assembled my layout I wanted to tone down a few of my bubbles, so using some white cardstock and circles punches close in size I trimmed a ring to go around some of my bubbles. I also added in some pen work to give my bubbles more definition. A few sayings and stickers were the perfect finishing touches to my layout inspired by circles.

“Hello Sunshine” card, by Shellye McDaniel.
I fell in love with the "hello sunshine" journal card with its adorable handwritten words! I trimmed the card down to fit my A2 sized card and then corner rounded just the bottom edges. To the top I made a border of various round elements: I punched a couple of 1.5" circles and then layered on some of the hand-drawn posie flowers found on the "Pocketful of Posies" paper. And of course, buttons are a nice way to top off a circle-themed project!

“Dream Big” card, by Shellye McDaniel.
The Sprinkles papers are the perfect background for any circle-type of theme, whether it be a layout or a card. I punched a few random circles in different sizes and then went back and punched out the centers of the larger circles with a smaller round punch. I used the same 1" punch for the black star circles and added them to the card with foam adhesive. Finally, I went back and added in a few small element such as sticker hearts and buttons.
