Welcome to Trending Thursday, where we pick something we are seeing trending within the scrapbooking industry and ask our designers to focus on that trend as they create their projects to share with you. This week we are focusing on feathers!
“Hello” card, by Ashley Marcu.
Feathers can add such a fun element to cards and there are so many fun ways to use them! On my first card I wanted to use one feather and keep it the focus of my card. To do this I kept everything around it light or complimentary to help it stand out and shine! I love the sass and personality it adds to the card.

“Life is Good” card, by Ashley Marcu.
On my second card I wanted to play with several different feathers made with different materials, colors and textures. I layered them, first with a Bella Blvd feather, then with a die cut feather and finally with a decorative tape feather. Since the feathers are so busy, I kept the colors and design of the rest of the card very simple.

“I Love My Cute Turkeys”, by Wendy Sue Anderson.
I know this probably isn't the most original idea for feathers ... but I just couldn't resist making a fun, colorful turkey! I used various patterned papers to cut the turkey body, feet, and face with my Silhouette Cameo and I thought the colorful feathers were the perfect addition! I have four little turkeys of my own and I sure love them - so it was fun to create a page celebrating them too!

Thankful Tee-Pee Décor, by Jen Chesnick.
For the holidays (any really) I love getting crafty and making decorations and table settings. I knew I would want something for Thanksgiving that I hadn't already done before. Surfing the Silhouette store I came across these Tee Pee's and knew that was it! Now how to incorporate Feathers into this idea? It was like a big giant light bulb went off. I transformed Bella's feathers into smaller versions with glitter to suit my style. You can watch the video below to see just how I did that!
