We are so excited to introduce you to our talented November Guest Designer, Laura Craigie! Let's get to know a little more about Laura and check out the projects she created to share with us!
Hey Everyone! This is Laura Craigie here today and I’m excited to share a few projects I created with some gorgeous Bella Blvd product. Firstly though, I thought I’d share a bit about myself! :)
I live with my husband and three busy boys on the west coast of B.C, Canada. I started scrapbooking in 2004 while pregnant with my first son, and the rest as they say is history. I like to flip flop between creating pages and cards, but my heart is most at home making cards. I love working in this industry and have been blessed to have my creations in many different publications and also work as a Garden Girl for Two Peas in a Bucket. I tend to gravitate to bright happy colors, which is why I love Bella Blvd so much. It just makes me happy!
“My Little More”, by Laura Craigie.
I have to confess that Christmas supplies are a serious weakness for me! It is definitely my favorite thing to scrap. I used lots of supplies from the Christmas Countdown line, which is beyond adorable. I decided to base the title of the page off of the green quote sticker. There really isn’t much of a story behind these photographs so I let the quote act as my journaling too.
I wanted to add a fun detail to the strips of patterned paper that make up the side of the page, and I decided to do that with two different sizes of metal star dies. I cut out the three large stars and layered the teal polka dot paper behind them to really make it pop. Then I used a smaller star die and cut out 3 more stars and layered them over the polka dot paper before running them through my sewing machine and bending the sides up for some dimension.
I kept the star negative cuts from before and sewed them onto the other side of page. I also used a circle punch and chomped the corners of my layout before sewing around the perimeter. It’s just a fun unique detail that is easy to add to your pages. Just make sure you do it to a different page so they can be back to back in your page protector and still see the cut outs!
When it comes to my Christmas cards, if I have the time I like to keep them all different and not replicate designs. I thought this was the perfect time to start making a dent in those cards since I had the product all pulled out from the layout.
“Holiday Hoopla!” card, by Laura Craigie.
For this card I wanted a secondary teal patterned paper, and chose the gorgeous wood grain paper from the Snapshots line. I created extra dimension on this card by adhering the stickers with foam adhesive. For another fun little detail I put glitter glue over the 25 on the 3x4 card.
“Wish you Joy…” card, by Laura Craigie.
This card was so much fun to make. It started off when I first saw this 3x4 card, and I knew I had to use it, it’s just too cute not to! So I adhered it to the bottom of the card, and added a strip of neutral patterned paper above it to ground the rest of the sentiment, which I added with letter stickers. Then I finished the card with some stickers, buttons, and machine stitching.
“Have a berry sweet day” card, by Laura Craigie.
The idea for this card came when I saw the adorable crocheted hearts. I just looked at them and saw strawberries. Now, obviously strawberries aren’t pink, but I decided to look past that part for cutes sake ;) I used a black marker to draw some seeds on, and wrapped a bunch of green twine to make the tops of the berries. Then I just paired a bunch of pink patterned papers together and created the sentiment with different letter stickers, made easy with the High Five Alphabet stickers.

My last card uses lots of the Paper Pieces die cuts from the Snapshots line. I especially love the grey camera patterned paper. It’s up there as one of my favorite papers! I wanted to continue the grey color and added the triangle paper from the Daily Chevies line which is full of great patterns and colors to go with anything!
I really hope you guys enjoyed the projects I made today, I had so much fun making them! Also, a big thank-you to Bella Blvd for giving me this opportunity!
